Problem is… bagseed is always unpredictable. Its either… great weed pollinated by some sneaky unknown dude somewhere. Or a selfed (hermie) seed… id drop either one tho honestly
Right! Ima purple ( gdp or purple medicino) fan or gimme da gas!!!
I have to give my girls constant attention so they don’t lack for enough water & nutes. But taking them outside during the day for 14+ hours of sun is fun, plus I get lots of chances to photograph them. Maybe I should write a book.
I’m thinking I should add some Fox Farm Ocean Forest that I already have and give the root ball a little bit more to play with. The roots aren’t growing out of the bottom of the pot yet.
Those do seem wicked! I hope u find some gold in them there hills man
I REFUSE to take my ladies outside. Pests and bugs everywhere. Aint nobody got time for that!
Thanks! I’m really hoping for enough to get by for a few months. I can’t do indoors and I started late so we shall see. I get jealous of all these 8-12fters in mid July.
Back in the early 1970s, a $20 ounce of weed had 3-5 grams worth of seeds in it plus about 5% THC, with a few notable exceptions. The growers were regularly missing their pruning and cultivation appointments. I think of all the seeds I pitched down the toidy and wonder what I could have done with them now.
@Kevfrmthestl Do you watch Tarek El Moussa’s Flipping 101 on HGTV? One house he was helping novice flippers on had a neighbor whose plants were 10+ feet and they worried about the house selling when it was rehabbed.
The problem is there is no way to know how that seed got in there. It could be from a hermaphrodite with a tendency to hermaphrodite. It could be great or terrible: what it will do is grow more vigorously than an expensive hybrid, in general. This is because it’s female and not feminized. There’s a huge difference. If you want to grow insane plants it’s gotta start with the genetics.
This plant took 5 months, grown in Promix, mostly under gucci lights, GH nutes: yield was 402 grams of flower.
Plant never hiccuped. I just had to use a whip and chair to train it haha.
Totally agree on genetics being the key to quality. I would say the sprout rate of some of these genetics are questionable. Sometimes it user error for real like not keeping seeds in proper storage but then sometimes you almost say to yourself what the heck. I’ve had a few herms over the years from bag seed but the seeds always popped which makes you mad when you spend some coin and they don’t. It’s very humbling as a grower you realize damn so many variables and anything can happen.
Please explain that. It seems you’re referring to 2 different things - the plant and the seed.
A female plant is teased into producing pollen which is used to pollinate another female. All seeds have no Y chromosome but due to the process it produces a less vigorous plant. Think in-breeding.
In animal husbandry if you do this you get “FLK’s”: “Funny-Looking Kids” haha.
You’re referring to a hermaphrodite?
Indirectly. By manipulating the plant genetics you end up with a more or less repeatable product that can be packaged and sold around the world, that will be close to what the buyer bought. But not the same, not the same vigor, or disease resistance or resistance to environmental stress that causes hermaphrodites.
This is why u see people speaking of F1’s etc… that first cross say… GG x WW will have VIGOR like a horse on coke. You may find 40 phenos tho. Not very stable. Now a stable line takes cloning, backcrosses, stable males, more backcrossing, and time. But its akin to generations of inbreeding… like lots of mother x progeny x mother’s parents x mother again… less vigorous. Alot more stable.
@Myfriendis410 @ganja-j @Cannabian @PurpNGold74 @Not2SureYet hav you heard of any of these breeders. The only one I’ve heard of was DNA. These were the breeders offering there seeds at my local shop today…
@Not2SureYet is a better one to ask that Q.
