I am currently experiencing what appears to be a fungus gnat problem in my young plants.
I would like to know if I should water the plants with a 1 part peroxide to 4 part water mixture?
Are the plant too young to treat with 3% diluted peroxide?
I sprayed the top of the soil with a 1 tbsp to 1 cup water dilution to minimize the activity and have heard that you could water the plants also to kill any potential larvae.
My only other concern is worrying about killing the beneficial microorganism that may be in my foxfarm happy frog soil.
@M397 , GOOD MORNING Brother, I agree 1000 ladybugs is quite much ! With my tent I just caught a few and gave them a new home/ with a job to do for me " pest control" they will help on the flying fungus gnats , but not the larvae living in your soil
Feeding on dying decaying matter in your soil, is your soil too wet ? Try drying out for awhile,
And sprinkle DIATOMACEOUS earth on your soil around ur plants, Neem oil , some suggest
Using peroxide, and other chemicals, I try to stay away from
If possible, but one thing brother
U have GOT to KILL the larvae
Before it kills all ur hard work
ᕙ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)ᕗ
Have you tried dusting the topsoil with diatomaceous earth? They go from root to leaf so if they die on the way problem solved. Hopefully anyway, the hydrogen peroxide is great for killing bugs and cleaning plants.
