This is why I lol when people say they use Amazon because shipping is free.

Shipping is free at Walmart as well. The manufacturer is seller on both. Even considering the Zon one on sale, still list price is $24 vs 36 for 5#. My farm supply wants $28. I run all the numbers before a purchase.

It’s been driving me nuts for a while what that Fritter smells like. I told CaliGurl yesterday it smelled like soap and old lady perfume. This morning it popped into my brain where I remember that smell.

Soap and Royal Violets

Married into a Cuban family. My kids got that after a bath. Maybe where I get soap smell? A sensory que flip in the brain? Definitely smells on the spice, incense, floral side.

Edit: We shall do the dance soon enough.

Feel that @big123 I tend to buy all my stuff during winter, because once spring starts hitting the prices go up.

My dilemma: empty lots full of trees surrounding my property. Neighbors have decided to start cutting them all down. Florida statutes are not on their side. I’ve asked too many time for them to stop, not their property, nor any permissions. Nothing encroaching, permitted by arborist, etc. Now I could call and make an anonymous complaint, but I’m the only one who has a problem with this; wonder who did it? With my current activities, this isn’t an option. With their “help” my property is now mostly visible. I’m fuqn angry!

Damn Brother. That’s a pisser for sure.
Sorry ur goin thru it.
My place was pretty private thru the summer till they took the windrow of bushes out a couple years ago along one side. He owns it tho. So I nothing I can do even tho he changed the way my laneway blows in with winter storms.
He took the trees out down front bout 5 or 6 years ago.
Used to be nobody even knew my place was here. Now I’m wide open to the world.
Smoke one. Or 2. Or 3. Lol.
The world has a way of things working out in the end.

These trees are what block the winds around my house from hurricanes

Now it becomes a health and safety issue for you then. And your property.

I just don’t need any more attention drawn to my activities much less pissing somebody off that would like to return the favor.

I’m smokin one but 3 more trees just fell so the 4 wheeler could play on 1/4 acre and one dude dump his trash and junk parts on. I’d need a QP to catch up with the rage

That’s terrible! I can’t imagine if they cut the trees down behind us… they just parceled off 40 - 11 acre lots so that means possibly 40 homes that could see us if they cut the trees down.

It would be one thing if any of them owned it then I’d have no choice in the matter. The people that own it have refused to sell for 30 yrs as this development popped up around me. I’m loosing my wind break, shade, privacy, etc. The owl just lost its nest. That owl has been there decades. I fuqn just threw up. I had to turn on the TV and hope I can get my mind off this all. I’m never one to call the law so this is taking me huge restraint. :v:t3:

Note to self: started NL tea 1:30. 1/2 gal 1 tbs EWC 1 tsp Kelp pinch BaB 3 grain ES

Any chance you could plant some fast growing trees on your side of the line. To buffer against them? Cyprus, white pine, cherry, alders?

I feel your pain. We had a 15 acre forest behind us when we bought our house. 10 years later it was clear cut and they put in 36 5,000sqft houses back there. We now have neighbors that look down into my whole yard. That’s the main reason I do not grow 10ft + Cana trees anymore. And I hide the grow with a food forest of trees and berries. Most can’t pick the canna out of my 54 fruit trees and berries, and all the annual veggies like pumpkins tomatoes and sunflowers.

Notice the McMansion hovering behind my greenhouse. My house was made in 1980 and is 1,100 sq feet. Those things are out of place million dollar homes. Blah.

The only fun thing was spraying the developers in the face w the garden hose. I would get up in a 15 ft ladder and lob water into the cabin of the earth movers. Sprayed the Forman in the face point blank at 1ft range when he came to get in my face. Had almost gotten my ass kicked by the land clearing crew. But I somehow convinced them I was a MMA fighter (had a cast on my left hand from punching a wall after my dad died of pancreatic cancer) and there was nothing I would like more to kick their ass on my land. Apparently I have a convincing crazy dude poker face. Not one stepped on my land. I sprayed each worker in the face and they all got held back by the foreman. I took my shirt off and said bring it bit@#*s. I would have been killed. lol

Those wieners called the cops on me. I told the police assuredly and kindly I was just watering my veggie garden. Sorry if those dudes were standing behind it. Sprayed them in the face till the houses went up. It was somehow making me feel better. Now 10 years later my kids have friends back there. I still miss the 15 acres of woods.

OMG, I feel for you.

Owls will use boxes for nesting, that can be built or bought. People usually mount them to tree trunks or posts:

Yeah, electric company came onto property to cut a limb coming close to the transformer.
They saw I had a electric pole to the middle of my property (10 acres)
They then tell me if you want power there in the future then we need to cut the trees in the way. I figured maybe 8 trees at most.
They hacked about 30 live oak trees. Not all where huge but still they went overboard.
Now all the trees around the ones they cut are dying. Seems rather coincidental to me.

Ive had many similar experiences were we live.
There is about 4 acres behind us that we could not afford to buy at the time.
One saving grace is its land locked by us and a stream the council say cant be crossed and the owner a right pasive aggressive guy that loves to make other peoples lives miserable we no acception.
We bought our land from him.
When we said yes we buy it he came in a cut down these beautiful gum trees 40 mts tall.
They were on the selling brochure and when he showed us around i mentioned how much i loved the trees
He then increased the sale by $24,000 1/2 hour before it went unconditional
He said we could get our water from a spring on the land we couldn’t buy to save money and getting ourselves a lawyers involved to get access to the water
We set up a top tank gravity fed to our land and he came in and dropped a huge pine tree on the tank and so much other crazy stuff.
He put all these people on his land hard up against our boundaries just to piss us off and violate our privacy

Beside his back property is a chap that i get on well with but he is now selling which means who ever buys it could build right behind us also and loose all our privacy
Ive been busy planting and growing trees this last 12 years for privacy but not fast enough
We have a hill which i want to build on one day and the tables will turn ill be looking down on and into there space.
I look forward to that day
But theres a lot of earth works that needs doing and i haven’t got the money to do it.
We sit and hope we are not invaded and privacy ruined
Cheers :beers:
