Freak out with controller and lights

So I’m slowly putting my system together. Playing around with the controller 69pro, just learning all the possibilities. Seeing what else I may need, like a UIS extension cord for the second fan.

Anyway, playing with my light (Tarantula tent ultimate) my PAR readings (Uni-T with PPFD Meter app) readings were really low around 400 maxed out at setting 10. This is 1000 par less than it should be.

I ran a 240v line to power the light, so I switch to 110, same. I tried calibrating the UNI-T, looked all through the ppfd app, tried other apps, uninstalled apps reinstalled, same. Pulled the batts from Uni-T, same.

Finally gave up and went back to playing with the 69 pro. Decided I would have to call customer support for the light and or for the wrong adapter from the 69 to the light.

While playing around with the 69, I noticed the transitions set for the light didn’t match the time I set. So I disconnected the 69 from the light to see if the pot on the driver had the same weird transitions or if it was just the 69. Seemed to be much smoother as it went through the range.

Hooked everything back up and dang, seemed brighter. Grabbed the meter… holy shite, 1437 ppfd at 25"s. WTF happened? The pot was turned to 0 when I was doing all my testing, it needs to be at 100% and the 69 can turn it down.

SOB… I spent hours when all I needed ta do was turn the damn knob.

Moral of the story… stay away from the fuggin Runtz while learning new toys. LMAO

It’s funny this morn’n, but I was wrekked last night.

you are correct the controller cannot turn the light on if set to 0 intensity…

Yeah, I guess online I saw someone saying about the pot is irrelevant once the controller is set up. I learned that’s not true.

Who woulda thought, something on the net isn’t true… how can the be. lol

Just got my “member” badge, spoke out loud “look at that, I’m finally a member”.
From the other recliner… “you’ve always been a member” :smirk:

Pretty cool though, I’m growing autos as long as the seeds hold out, and for 650 / 700 par I’m only at 40%. I’ve found it’s kinda like the gas gauge in a car. The first half of the tank moves slower than the second half.

I have a “line conditioner” (cleans up AC) where everything but the light is powered from. This will also allow me to monitor usage over time of the whole system, all at once. Kill-A-watt gets here tomorrow, I’ll find out what this system is gonna cost to operate.

I’ll have to do the math to make sure all the nutrient solution equip doesn’t exceed the capacity of the conditioner.

I know I’m rambling a bit… I blame it on the wake and bake.

Damn this light.

Lights been on at setting 4 since 4am, temp is at 82.8 with no fans running all morning. Finally starting to get an idea of how my system will function and what challenges I’ll face for my particular set up. I know as we move through the seasons it’s all gonna change, but thats cool, I’ll just adapt and keep on grow’n!

Thats right, this is my first indoor grow and I’m a super excited newbie. It’s not the first time y’all’ve had ta deal with it. lol
