Here is some extreme foxtail. You get the idea where the name comes from.

Its usually not so much as this pic but you will see stacks of new flowers.
Yours looks pretty normal for a bud. They just take longer sometimes to mature.

Nice looking buds @MIlkbiscuit
They are not foxtailing just at the end of growth. I’d do some wet trim to get rid of the dead or dying leaves. Just water for the next week, if you aren’t already.

Get your bong cleaned out and ready for your rewards. :1st_place_medal::1st_place_medal:

Best advice I have is to ignore the fox tails, and evaluate the readiness based on the trichome ripening.

I’m not seeing much growth aspects at this point. Just finishing out now.
I’d trim the dead, just add cool clean water and give the 24 hours of darkness. Then asses them in the morning. Send pictures

Foxtailing doesn’t diminish the quality, just the appearance. I think you’re really close to harvest, so I’d prepare for that. Also, I don’t really notice foxtailing on that bud.

It can diminish quality if left unchecked, it decreases overall quality of harvest by adding immature trichomes to the mix.

That being said, autoflowers seem hella prone to foxtails that look more like bumps along the road. I call it the wild look VS the big long tails pictured above. I started looking at the photos from breeders, a great many of the images used to promote an autoflower have that wild look. Maybe this, wildness, is a trait of ruderallus not commonly advertised? I dunno, just some personal musings as I stand in line to donate plasma.

Seems like some pictures of pure ruderalis I saw showed either long and skinny or “popcorn” flowers.
