My girls are planted in ffof and ff happy frog. They are auto’s. They will b 5 weeks old on monday. This is my question. When am i suppose to start feeding them to get them ready for flowering that should b happening pretty soon
generally 4 to 6 weeks the soil alone is fine.
I would start introducing 1/4 strength feedings from here and work up to full strength over the next two or three weeks. Watch the leaf tips and if they start to show yellow(burning) back off.
Looking great btw
Yeah getting close frog is 5 weeks, I think ocean is like 6 weeks. So close
Should i only do bloom nutes or the whole trio
Thank you❤
Start on week 5 and start 1/4 strength at first. Watch for leaf issues.
Increase after a week or 10 days to 1/2 if you see no problems.
Make sure to check pH after you mix up so you land between 6.3 & 6.8, I try for 6.5 but dont sweat it if I miss slightly.
Recomend a “ppm” reading of the soil to check how much is left in the soil first before introducing neuts to ffof. BTW the plants look very good right now, natural light photos help tons for diagnostics though.
Do i have to worry bout ppm’s
Yeah ya do with ffof. It will tell you when to add neuts and how much. Tons of info and threads on the subject here.
Its good to know whats going on.
If you have a ppm meter is not hard at all.
Keep in mind that everyone lands on a process that works for them and there will be differences.
Experience will be gained very fast. I killed all my first plants, but finally got a good system.
There is no absolute “One Way” to grow weed.
I have learned…that for me…I just start introducing nutes to the fox farm soils around week 5 or 6. Never checked to see if they were out of nutrition, I figured they would be soon, so by adding a low dose I would overlap the end of the soils food with food I introduce. Not a thing wrong with checking current soil to see what the ppms are. I might start doing that myself. The more info you have the more you understand whats going on. Keep us posted. Always fun to watch a grow.
I had an issue last grow with introducing FF neuts too early. Didn’t kill anything but had to flush the soil out and start full neuts after recovery. Just slowed the plant for a couple of weeks. Ended up with great yeald but I check now. As you say it is so easy to do. A decent TDS meter is under 20.00 bucks. Too cheep not to have and use.
I have a ppm meter whats good? Like 400 or lower
Someone else may know what it should be.
Im gonna say 500 to 700 would be good. 300 or less says its getting low.
I use what I been told not to feed till the ppm’s get under 1000, 800 even better. Then give the neuts. At 4 weeks my ffof turned out to be 2100 ppm’s and I fed cause I didn’t measure first, just went by the 4 week a time frame. It can go 4,6 even longer subject to enviromentals, strain ect. I learned to test! Too easy not to.
From what I understand the slurry test is best but I water to runoff and test that regularly and if something looks funny I do the slurry test.
Whats a slurry test?
You can take some of the Soil from down around the roots put it in a glass of water Stir It Up check it with your PPM meter.
(considered slurry test)
