First time grower here, growing gorilla glue autos, 32 days old
My plants just started to have the white pistols starting to grow on them so am I correct in thinking that the plants are flowering? I have done so much online reading about how much and how often to feed my plants (growing in happy frog) with fox farms nutes. I have been going by this schedule and everything seems to be ok, but my soil doesn’t dry up for about 7 days (growing in a tent that’s in a shed in Virginia and can’t get the humidity down ) and I have heard to just add ph water inbetween feedings, so if I do that, I’m skipping a feeding every
other week, I have only fed 2x
Time to start feeding for flower. They’ve shown their sex and the next step is full on flowering. Plants look really nice.
They are not flowers just yet. But real close. Fox Farms doesn’t have a Nutrient schedule for Autos.
Brand new FF soil is good up to 6 weeks before you add any nutrients. You will want to start about 1/4 of the dose listed. As they mature you will bump it up slowly.
If it takes 7 days for your soil to dry up you are using to much. Or get a better fan inside the tent or you will have to deal with mold. And you don’t want that to happen.
So do you think I would be ok if I mixed the tigerbloom In now at a 1/4 dose along with the other 2 at a 1/4 dose?
I mix up 2.5 gallons of water and add the food in, ph it, then evenly water the plants. Someone told me this was incorrect and I was supposed to water everyday a little bit at a time @MrPeat
How long have they been above soil? Lets start there first. I use only FF products.
32 days @MrPeat
@Payton So here is what I would do. If you decided to feed, only use 1/4 dose. This is for 1 gallon of water.
Do this for 1 week. By the way FF says to feed twice a week.
Next week, watch how they respond. Then I would maybe bump it up-to 1/3 dose. In 1 gallon of water.
You plants won’t drink more than probably 1/2 a gallon every couple of days.
Now for the following aka 3rd week, I would do 1/2 dose.
So in 1 month you should be doing 1/2 to full
dose per 1 gallon of water.
As the flowers start packing on weight, its not unusual for 1 plant to consume 1 gallon every 2 days.
This is when it gets tricky. Because as the plant gets bigger, you will feed more water per watering and this means it will use more nutrients. This step is trial and error till you figure out.
I grow Super monsters and its not unusual for me to feed 2 gallons every 2 days.
You don’t need to water every day. You watch your plants and they will tell you. Its a learning curve.
Generally you will water every 2 to 3 days. With fabric pots, the excess will drain off easily.
Two weeks from now the soil should be pretty depleted of the original nutrients in the soil.
If you see a problem, get photos and post immediately.
Example: whoever this grower was waited way to long as its an extremely bad case of calcium deficiency.
So its important to address a problem when you first see it. This Community has plenty of experienced growers of years to decades.
Great advice MrPeat
Hey I used fox farms when I first started growing , I had a lot of good results. In my opinion where you are now, I’d get going with your feedings . At this point it’s going to start taking alot in . I would definitely start to follow the schedule they provide . They make alot of these nutrient brands quite safe for beginners. As long as your PHing your water on water days and phing your feed on feeding days you should be good. The schedule is there for a reason , use it , and this forum and you’ll be in good shape . Don’t forget to check your ppm once in awhile .

Hey several of us are still learning. But the way they just explained watering and nutrients, will work well for you to. Just read the topics!
@Baller-MoM.151 her post was a year ago. She is well past that.
When growing autoflowering plants, please use half the amount of nutrients, as they do not require as many nutrients as their photoperiod counterparts. Using half the nutrients is enough to ensure a good grow.
Please see the feeding schedules below for usage instructions. Always consider your personal situation and apply nutrients accordingly.
Using room temperature tap water (20ºC / 68ºF), dissolve the nutrient powders.
Stir well and adjust to the desired pH level if necessary.
Please refer to our Nutrients feeding section for more general information on feeding your plants.
