Foliar spray, dry indoor climtate

Is there a good spray as a foliar, especially to battle low humidity in the winter months. Especially when the furnace is running a lot and the air is so dry.??

I just bit the bullet and bought a humidifier. Ac Infinity cloudforge. directing the vapor towards the air inlet. works like a charm.

you can always just fill up containers of water or soak towls and place them in the tent if thats ur setup to create more humidity.

Where is your grow located?

Just use straight water in a plastic spray bottle and wet the area around the plants a couple of times a day or as required. you can spray it on the leaves if you like but that increases the chance of mold and fungal infections, especially during flowering.

You can have buckets or trays of water in the room to increase humidity.

If the humidity isn’t below 40% I wouldn’t worry about it too much.

I am growing in a 5x5 tent inside a “lung room” bedroom. I am in late flower so I guess it being true that I really don’t want to spray the buds either. I’m also concerned with the next grows.

Did you change your profile pic? If not sorry for asking but I thought you had a different pic? Seems funny my memory is always correlating the pic with the name but I my be confused.

In the wintertime, my rH is mostly in the low 20’s into the 30’s. When I first started, I worried about that and battled it.

Now I don’t worry about it. My plants do OK even when the rH dips into the teens. The plants do transpire at a higher rate so consume more water when the humidity gets really low.

Yeah this is a learning experience for me, I was noticing that my rh has been down in the 40s this past week. I guess the next thing to watch. I really do want and appreciate everyone’s past and prior dealings with humidity to help me understand where the line actually is.

Good foliar for veg time would be bbp or bud buster pro @ravenchief can prolly tell u a ton about the product and where to purchase it at or from.

Are foliar sprays beneficial during veg? Aside from pest or mold control. I’ve never really used them. But areas that are high humid seems to grow really good strains and plants.

I did. Change it up.

In veg foliar is great as the leaves absorb the butrients faster than going thru the roots. Plus foliars help build up trics also as the plant tries to protect itself from other elements but ive never really dove into foliar as i get wpm easy here so it scares me to foliar feeling ill get thebwpm directly following. Lol.

There r a t on on here qho use bbp. @kaptain3d @pr @skyfishbud and many others

Nope, never used BBP… :man_shrugging:

You have to remember these plants evolved in the wild and some evolved in hot dry climates (Afghanistan, Africa). Others evolved in equatorial regions where it’s hot and damp (Thailand). Just because they have been bred in tents, greenhouses and bedrooms for 20 years, doesn’t mean they have lost the ability to survive variation in environmental conditions.

People have pampered these plants and spoilt them and in my opinion they overdo it sometimes. I agree with a nice temperature and stable humidity when flowering but you don’t have to go overboard especially during the veg stage. These plants are quite resilient and in summer we have temperatures over 40C (104F) with a humidity around 20% and they are fine as long as they don’t get burnt by the sun and don’t dry out from lack of water.

Ideally we would keep them at 26C (79F) with 60% humidity but not everyone does and you won’t get any major increase in yield over having them in slightly cooler, warmer or drier conditions. If you have them flowering in high humidity or really hot conditions you will see a difference in the yield but a few degrees in temperature or 10-20% in humidity won’t make any diff.

Foliar sprays with nutrients aren’t worth using on healthy plants that have an established root system. They are however helpful when getting cuttings to strike. Cuttings don’t have roots and spraying a low dose fertilizer on the leaves each day can help the cuttings develop roots faster.

Foliar sprays used to kill insects or fungus/ mold can be useful but it’s preferable to prevent these health issues by providing good airflow around the plant.
