Looks like you guys had a great time. That’s awesome! I know the little man enjoyed the heck out of it when he didn’t even care that the top of his head was freezing. ![]()
I call that looking out for people
Lime I didn’t know you can roll snow like a carpet. Wish I would have know that last week. Well we have a trip with the grandkids to go snow skiing in Colorado in March. Maybe I can try it out there.
Yes the city of New Orleans was definitely shut down. The city actually hired a company from Illinois to come down and plow the roads. We got the snow on Tuesday and it wasn’t until Friday afternoon they got the interstates open again. But with so many people on the roads the interstates and roads leading to interstates were like a parking lot. Took people 4 hours to go a couple miles. Happy to say I stayed off the roads.
@DEEPDIVERDAVE my son started shoveling his sidewalk after the 10 inches fell. His sidewalk is about 30 feet, he was quite surprised how labor intensive it is. We all learned a bit about heavy snowfall that day but we did enjoy it.
We lived on " a corner" (two city sidewalks and three small house walks).
We were not allowed to go shovel for others ($), until ours were done first.
Did I mention Driveways?
I’m wondering what February weather is going to be like in the south let’s see if that groundhog works for us down here there
Well I my buddy who let me use & test out his ggs controller just hooked me up with a spider farmer se1500 light
He’s got some kind of hook up but just like @anon34311147 was saying he doesn’t want me too waste my time with the g1000
He was saying go with the Samsung evo chips vs the us made chips
He also told me now hydro farm & spider farmer bar lights are made the same except the dimming controller HF you need a Wi-Fi stick for $15-20 and SF it’s digital display with the Wi-Fi built in to control it from your phone
Basically Chevy GMC
for HYdro farm its FC lights not FC E lights
And for spider farmer it’s Se lights not G
So if you see deals on eBay for under $80-100 on the 1500 models or under $200 on the 3000 models
But if you buy them directly from either site make sure to use a YouTubers discount code at checkout
Coco I really think you should get one of these being able to control my light settings the brightness and time from my phone
I like the sunrise/sunset feature instead of the lights coming on full blast it gradually raises & lowers to the max I have set
I’ve have it set for the first/last 30mins
A good auto watering system and I don’t think you’ll need a babysitter when you go out of town anymore
Correction not hydro farm
It’s Mars hydro and Spider farmer
Lime thanks for the info. I ordered SF lights yesterday with Samsung chip but after looking at SE1500 I want that one. Going to cancel the first one I ordered. How do you find the YouTubers discount code?
I do like at the idea of not having to rely on anyone when out of town and being able to control remotely. However, lights will be a new ballgame for me as the majority of my growing is with sun but I think with these lights I can get a jump start on the season. As always thanks for the info.
@DEEPDIVERDAVE when I saw my son shoveling the sidewalk, I asked him what if he had to do his driveway. He was happy not to have to shovel the driveway. Although it could save him a trip to the gym.
@anon34311147 yes my grandkids absolutely loved the snow and all the activities they were able to do. Heck, I loved it as well. I tried to soak in as much as possible because I don’t think I will ever see that again where I live. Last snow of that magnitude was 130 years ago. We very rarely even see a snowflake much less 10 inches.
Look up benchasing, green magic or pigeons420 on YouTube and look in the captions or learn more
Everybody’s spider farm code is 8% off I think
Here I looked up One for you it’s GREENMAGIC
All caps
One last thing I was just told
sign up for the Spider Farmer a loyalty rewards and get points that can be used for more combined discounts
He said he thinks you get 500points or $5.00 just for signing up and a point for every dollar you spend after
Lime I went ahead and ordered the SE1500, it’s supposed to be in today. I tried to cancel the first one but I couldn’t so I will send it back. Now comes the problem, I know nothing about using lights. My girl is 13 days old and her first week she spent under cheap 30W lights for 18 hours a day. About 3 days ago I started putting her outside in the sun, bringing her in at night and putting her under the cheap light till about midnight. Our weather was in low 50s this morning but will be warming and getting in high 60s this week. I will continue to put her out in the sunshine and want to give her more light when I bring her in at night. The new light is 150 watts. Lime, @anon34311147 , @DEEPDIVERDAVE Can any of you guys with light experience tell me how far I should put the lights from her and the intensity? I would also like to use my lights to get some vegetable seeds started (tomatoes, cucumbers, etc.) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks and have a great weekend!
@Coco27 The light you ordered should have documentation how far above canopy, lights should hang.
Else, lower light and use back of hand to feel heat.
Hot hand is too close.
LUX meter (Measure light) seedling 10-30KLux
YouTube video available.
Not that these numbers are true, but 25 inches above does not burn flowers.
R900 is 400 watts (no dimmer capability).
Not a recommended light, just available.
HLG lights for me.
Secondly, FFHF is my soil of choice 70% with 30% Perlite added by me.
Too easy to overwater seedlings.
Good growing to you.
Thanks so much Dave, I appreciate the info. I have a lot to learn here. Happy growing!
Much more reading available.
Hope you enjoy the reading and your garden, I do.
It will have hanging height recommendations
But again I hang my lights a little higher and if they start stretching I just turn up the light intensity
But I would stay around 35-40% and under till you know the plant is use to the light
I love the digital display on the dimmer it’s easy to read on my eyes
And Adjusting the light thru the app on my phone while on the go I feel like I’m cheating ![]()
Set the light schedule you want thru app
I just preordered the ggs 10 power strip for the 4x4 tent so I will be able to control the
vent/clip fans from the app
Have fun with your new toy

I’m starting in April this season. I plan to run a some photos and a slew of autos. Once I got the hang of the autos (after killing about 7
) I really started digging them for variety. The NYC Diesel and Vida Blanca Border Jumper I grew last season turned out some pretty awesome bud. It’s those few monster photos that keep the stash tray filled all year though. ![]()

The picture of your grandson is priceless. I’m so glad you all had a wonderful time and made such lasting memories. ![]()
Is your screen name the same on Facebook?
It appears @Mr.Mr.Limelight has already been sampling the mother plants and created a slight shipping delay. ![]()

That’s harsh! Funny…but harsh. ![]()
Amen! I need all the help I can get. ![]()
No…but my Dad sure did. After getting it paved suddenly the cost of my new basketball court was shoveling the driveway. ![]()
I would just like to say that is kicking my ass how much that’s kicking your ass. ![]()

Don’t act like My clamp light set up wasn’t high tech for 2003 with four xMas wall timer’s
all a couple mins off no matter how many times you sink them up

I got a mats clip fan on the way that I can control thru the app too for the 4x4 tent aka basement of the Alamo
Meant Mars clip fan for $20 would have been 2 but got outbid on the second one
Those are good to have. I’ve read that wind blowing against the buds causes them to grow out bigger. I have 3 6" ACInfinity circulating fans in my 4x4. I use one on top of my lights also for passive cooling. It helps the longevity of the light also.
I wasn’t sure on how many I would need I was thinking 2 but do you think I should get 2 more
I went with the mars version because it had the rj12 jack that works with the ggs controller and I saved $20 should be here Monday
I definitely can see how the clip fans help strengthen branches in a tent and keep the leafs from sweating on each other or help with blocking light from lower bud sites
I read that having a breaze blowing up against the buds is good for them. There was more to it. I just remembered, it’s good for them but it has something to do with growth. It helps them to grow denser. It’s not the only thing but one of the things to use for denser buds.
