Hi Lime, so good to hear from you. So sorry it’s been a while since we communicated. I’m still watching my youngest grandson who is now 17 months old. He definitely keeps me busy. Also still following my son and photographing his performances. He is doing well with his musical career. Also been trying to help my niece take care of my sister as she has Alzheimer’s and it continues to get worse. It is such a horrible disease that just rattles your brain.
Hope you are doing well and hopefully still growing. It would be a shame for you to stop with your green thumb. I actually just dropped a seed yesterday for my winter grow. I don’t get to spend as much time growing now with all I have going on but I do enjoy it so I am trying again. Trying to prepare for this big cold front that we will be getting on Monday. The weathermen here can’t decide if we will get any winter precipitation or not. They really crack me up.
I was actually thinking about you the other day. Making my living soil just like you taught me. Tried it last year and it worked really well. Thanks so much for the knowledge you shared with me along the way. You have helped me more than you know. You and @Shadegrown really helped me when I was at a lost. Hope you are doing well Shade and are continuing to grow your garden.
Lime one day I would like to tap into your knowledge about crossbreeding. Thanks so much for stopping in to say hello. I do miss talking with you guys. Have a great day!

I hate that you’re sister is going thru that I’ve seen it up close with 2 family friends
Make sure she keeps hydrated with water especially when she looks sweaty and flustered

Nobody wants to ask them questions that leave them with confused look in there eyes
so I would just bring him a water and say here’s the water you asked for instead of asking are you thirsty

I’m hoping shade knows how to contact you outside here I’m sending him seeds from the tropical thunder crosses from last season
And the last boy I’m collecting pollen from right now I’m surprised he’s not dead from no water going on week 3 and 5 days with below freezing weather at night

Maybe if it snows Tuesday he will finally die off

So glad you are doing well Coco! I was concerned after we spoke about your sis that you might get overwhelmed. I know it’s still stressful but I’m glad you have support and distractions like your son and grandson. I will work out contacting you about seeds from Lime and let you know here. I won’t have you missing out on those. Much love Coco! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts::sunglasses::+1:t2:

Shade thank you and @Mr.Mr.Limelight for your reply and concern. The situation with my sister is way too familiar My sister and I took care of my mother as she had the dreaded disease as well. It was absolutely horrible to watch her die mentally over a period of 10 years and not be able to do anything to change it. Now here I am seeing it happening all over again. I would not wish this disease on anyone. But I do have bright spots in my life as my children and grandchildren bring me lots of joy.

Lime I think you are the only person I know that can keep a plant alive in the dead of winter. You truly have a green thumb and hand. We are preparing for snow on Tuesday and it never snows here in southern Louisiana. They are predicting a few inches here and the last time that happened was in 1965. If it happens like they are predicting it will shut down the city and we will have many busted pipes. Lime I think you may be getting in on some of that frozen precipitation as well. Hope you are ready for it.

The seed I dropped a few days ago broke soil this morning, so it begins. With this freezing weather I will have to keep it inside. I have a really cheap grow light that I will keep her under until I can put her outside. I plan on keeping the light on 24 hours a day for 2 weeks. I’ve never done that before. Do any of you see a problem with doing that?

Shade I hope you are doing well. How is your mother? I know you have problems with your siblings. Hopefully that has been resolved and you and your Mom can have some peace.

Really great hearing from both of you. I will try and do a better job of keeping in touch.

Stay safe and warm!

Yes we are supposed to get snow Tuesday too
This will be my 5th time seeing snow in my life time if it happens
Normally we get cold rain then Ice

If it does I’ll be at home eating frito pie or something easy and warm in my belly
:joy:  :joy:

With seedlings 24 hrs should be fine the first couple weeks if it starts to look like it’s stressing bump it down to 18hrs

These led lights have been coming down in prices the new version of the spider farmer se3000 lights I bought for my crew on Black Friday 2023 is $20-30 cheaper and that’s before the 8% off with YouTubers discount codes

The new models have a digital readout on the dimmer and Wi-Fi and they upgraded Samsung evo chips

I’ve been playing with the ggs controller hooked up to one of the older se3000 lights I’m borrowing
It’s a game changer I can control lights settings with the app on my phone

I think I’m going to buy some lights for the barn and one of the ggs5 power strip so I can individually control any old lights or fans

I’m glad you’re doing well Coco and super excited you’re starting your new grow. I know you and Lime been tripping on the possibility of snow. We’ve definitely gotten more than usual here this year and the last two came up from the south. I’m actually surprised you both haven’t gotten any already. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for Lime to get his 5th snow and for you not to have water issues and busted pipes like Richmond did. :joy::crossed_fingers:t2:
Mom is doing well. Thanks Coco. Her perseverance and resilience makes me proud she’s my Mom. Things have gotten much better with family and we actually had a nice Christmas. I’m glad you’ve had grandkids to brighten your days. Are you on social media? If not I have other ways to communicate outside the forum. Just checking the simplest ways first. Take care and much love! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts::sunglasses::+1:t2:

Just so I make sure I tell you @Shadegrown @Coco27 about these 72 5x5 spider farmer grow lights I came across on eBay

I’m trying to make that 7hr drive to save on shipping and buy 2-5 of these
They are about 600 new

Lime that looks like an excellent deal. Hope you can work it out. Thanks for the info. I’ve been looking on Amazon but didn’t think to look on Ebay. Are you switching to indoor growing? I know you start some plants indoors but sounds like you are expanding. I dropped one seed which broke soil last Sunday. I’ve been keeping it under the cheap lights I have which I know is not enough light. My plan was to put outside and catch the sun and use the lights to give up to 18 hours of light per day, but the cold weather messed with my plans. I was able to put her out yesterday as we got sun and temps in the 60s.

Lime how much snow did y’all get? We got over 10 inches of snow. I mean it was like a blizzard, it snowed from about 7am to 6 pm. Big thick chunky snowflakes falling all day. We had a blast. I was sliding down the levee with my grandkids on plastic sleds. The levee was totally white, something I will probably never see again. Last time this area got that much snow was 130 years ago. We rarely get any snow and when we do if we get 1/2 inch it’s considered a lot. Made some great memories with my son and his kids. Luckily we got through it without any busted pipes. I live in a raised house and whenever the temps dip below freezing for a period of time we have that possibility but my husband did a good job of preparing for it and we left the pipes drip at night so we came out good.

@Shadegrown I am so happy to hear your Mom is doing well and your family life has improved. It had to be miserable living with family that you don’t get along with. Hopefully it will continue to be good for you. Cherish your time with your Mom, we all have limited time on this earth. I am on Facebook but not sure what you need me to do.
Thank y’all both for reaching out, so good to hear from y’all again. Much love to y’all both. Stay safe!

That is a lot of snow
No we only got enough to scrape a couple snow balls of the top of the cars the roads were clear and luckily it wasn’t ice like normal

I’m staying with my outdoor grows
But if I can sneak a extra grow in why not

I have liked playing with this smaller light and that price great less than half price even if I paid the shipping

But the froogle ness in me says the 7hr drive might be worth it if I want to up grade the lighting in the barn 500 for 5 is still cheaper than buying 1 new and it will give a better jump start on the plants

Thanks for the heads up bro! That’s a killer deal for sure. :sunglasses::+1:t2:

Wow Coco… that’s more than we got! I’m so glad to hear all the fun you and the family had playing. Those are the moments to cherish. I will hit you back about Facebook.

Sorry you didn’t get the blizzard Coco did…but I’m glad you at least saw some and made the kids some sno-cones. :joy::sunglasses:

Those look like good lights. I’m sure they’ve been used well though. For 100 apiece…? Do you think it’s worth it? They are probably almost dead. You might get 2 or 3 grows from them if your lucky. There’s a reason why they are selling them so cheap

Lime I hope those lights work out for.you. I like your thoughts about sneaking in an extra grow. That’s what I’m trying to do right now, trying an outdoor grow in January. Last week we were below freezing parts of the day for about 5 days so it was all inside. Today we are in the low 60s so she is outside getting her sunshine. If it doesn’t work, I will just try again. @Shadegrown when are you planning to start your grow?

I wanted to share a picture with y’all and show how much snow we got. This is my 9 year old grandson sledding down the levee of the Mississippi River, when on a normal day he would have been in school. The smile on his face shows how happy and excited he is. zoom in on

his head as his hair is frozen with ice, and check out the reflection in his goggles, you will see me taking his picture. The background is the river but the snow was so heavy you can barely see the trees that line the river. It was such a fantastic day.

My first “snow Day” for skipping school (in Chicago), was the blizzard of 67.
School would be easier than shoveling snow (3-7ft). Got the drive and 55 Caddy free only so city could plow street and block us with as much packed ICED snow. Lost the Basset hound in the snow, once. Not twice.

I feel you
That’s why I want the ones with the black end frames
The most they can be is 2yrs old
They are coming from a grow farm that shut down in Oklahoma they are very over populated with farms there are more farmer/dispensary licenses then patients

But it doesn’t look like I’m going to be able to make the drive for at least 2-3 weeks if there still available

Looks like Colorado or Michigan that’s so crazy I bet the whole city shut down not a plow truck for miles or states :joy:  :joy:
I’m glad y’all got to enjoy it Your grand baby’s face says it all

I hope nothing else comes this next month witch is normally the coldest time of the year for us

That’s cool, I was just being a little pessimistic. I always am about things like this, you almost have to be so you can get the best price negotiated. Sounds like you the brand better than I do. Cosmetics are a dead giveaway, almost like an odometer. To bad lights didn’t have some way to have a visual gauge to show the life of the diodes and how far they have drifted.
