Flowering Cutting WTF?

Hi all, I took a few cuttings from a Jack Herrer to propagate.

One of them I just had in a glass of water after dipping in rooting compound,

It started to form a couple of tiny root shoots
!BUT! the little prick also started to flower !!-
I couldnt believe it
Has about 6 little tentacles on top maybe 2-3mm long. More than the roots themselves!

I didnt know this was even possible b4 even having any proper roots.

So Im trying to stop the flowering by keeping it under light inside.

Q/ Is it possible to re-start flowering later on once it becomes an established plant?
Is it even worth continuing???

Thanks in advance. Will post pic later.

Definitely possible. This is method of sexing regular plants i have been recommending for years on here.

You can reveg it again after planting into your grow medium. I’ve cloned flowering cuts and just snipped off the flower and revegetated.

Awesome, thanks guys!

I actually did stick into coir today - pics below.

I originally took 2 cuttings - one I stuck straight into coir & the other into water for comparison.

The one in coir from the start did develop roots quicker than this one.
Perhaps the flowering slowed this one down.

For both I cut some of the leaf tips with scissors.

These pics are of the one in water originally:

New growth is likely to look funky for awhile but will stabilise.

So, if you have a plant & are not sure of the sex, you would intentionally flower a cutting to determine?

As long as it’s a photo and not an auto, it should be able to revert back to veg

Absolutely. Like konflict said not a great method for autos. But if you have mature photo plant you should have no problem sexing a cutting in a cup of ph’d water.
