The two posters in this thread dont seem to be getting along, i hope @S.FloridaSwampman can chill out because if not it doesnt seem like that person will get along well here. Fyi @S.FloridaSwampman i dont know why you have beef with @fano_man, but you definitely wouldnt be the first. But i have come to understand @fano_man, and hes an alright guy
Maybe something was miscommunicated.
Again welcome to our community @Stoney1 Im glad u have decided to visit. We have lots of resources and some of the most helpful, knowledgeable, and kind people from all over the world here.

Sorry @stoney1
TY… ALL GOOD here…trying to hone my skills…grew back in the 70’s and back then it was ALL outside and didn’t check Ph…usually grew along fence rows by the farmers field and along river. So now it is quite the venture…Thanks again didn’t ruffle my feathers
Nor mine they rarely do feathers that it… anyway yea cut the question mark out and make a raised bed spend about 50 to 100 in good dird like a cubic yard or 2 of super soil from amazon i …look it up @garrigan can u link that for me buddy super soil
@Stoney1 This is a reminder that it’s time to get autos out for the CFL winter grow season. I will be dropping mine next week.
CFL winter grow season …what is this
Compact Fluorescent?
Central Florida - boom!!!
Aahh nice
I know I’m late to the game on this thread but let’s just say I live in The south that was founded in 1565 by Spanish explorers so I am extremely close to saltwater and it is very difficult to grow outside but I’ve had a lot of luck and I mean a lot of luck can’t wait for the season to be right going to do things a lot different
happy growing yall
You must have better soil than I…on a small scale I have learned to use fabric pots and bury in my flower beds as I am completely sandy soil…good for drainage …I compost and also use Fox Farm …Have a small 3x5 indoor …its just so much fun…When do you consider start to the season in FL.
Everybody does it differently but usually early to Mid March after the last frost
I too have sandy soil, and I as well compost actually tomorrow I’m gonna rake up all these damn sycamore leaves in my front lawn and put in compost barrel so when spring hits I might have something to work with if not it’s ffof and fabric pots time.
But yeah my compost is usually rich so I have to be extremely careful,( I’ve effed up some good plants being careless before.
Here’s my raised flower bed I want to start in next season.
General questions for the central Florida growers - what strains have you found grow best (outdoors) in our hot and humid climate? This would be an outdoor plant, grown by a first timer. What products do you rely on to fight the unavoidable pests, aphids, white flies, powdery mildew, mold, etc. THANKS!
Out doors I do my own compost, and to fight pest, WPM, mold, etc… I use Diatomaceous Earth. Also is 50/50 of water and peroxide(3%), for wpm. Hope that’s helps. I stick to all Organics it’s works for me.
I’ll tell ya what… the GL grew great for me outside. I also had a NLA outside but ended up bringing it inside. I am SoFlo btw. Its hard to get away from the rain but I did have a tarp over it for 2 or 3 day storms. The GL did good and ya have to have AC for a garage/shed inside grow… I also run the dehumidifier on the end side of the grow and drying…
Thanks for the info. By “NLA” I assume Northern Lights auto? What is “GL”?
What do you mix with your compost? Do you use only organic fertilizers as well? I want to stick with organics for pest control, but I don’t mind using non-organic fertilizers. Thanks for the suggestions!
