Fiz's Fourth! The Graysin Farm's grow - Fall/Winter 23

Today is the last day of the 7th week, 4th of veg.

Lilli

Pixi

Both are 21 inches tall. Obviously Pixi has grown more bud sites, 16 I think it is to Lilli’s 12. I plucked enough leaves to allow good air flow.

A squee worthy picture of Odie the carrot.

So in the meantime… I had my hot water heater replaced yesterday. Doesn’t sound like a big deal until you hear that it’s under my stairs, and behind the wall of my pantry closet. I had to unload everything, clean out any dust/Odie hair/etc, and then today I had to put it all back together. I was WIPED for couple of days. But I’m glad it’s over and I don’t have to worry about that again for a few years.

I also put 4 gallons mix set to “flowering” mix - they seem very happy with that, their color has improved greatly (checking pH every couple of days to be sure it stays stable), and Lilli is 24 inches tall today, Pixi 23 so they are getting flipped tomorrow night for the new week starting Sunday.

I checked and even if they double in height, I’ll still have well over a foot of headroom. That would be festive.

Pictures tomorrow or Sunday.

Last day of week 8, 5th of veg. Flipping tonight. These pics are true color shots, they are sleeping hence a wee bit droopy.

@Fiz

They look ready to go, they are going to be big

That’s what I was going for, had to see if I could grow something beyond midgets and mutants.

I am not (too} afraid to supercrop if need be…

I’m there for you, if I can help

I completed the flip checklist.

  1. timer changed
  2. pH checked and adjusted in the tank
  3. switched Photone to 12 hours and cranked up the light to get back to 40ish dli
  4. reset my controller to up the exhaust and pole fan speed, switched couple of settings

And here we go! Lights on 8pm
Lights off 8am

I slept in past the lights off time, hubby had had a really bad day and I had some things I needed to do for him right up till around 2 AM.

I’m looking forward to seeing them after 8 tonight.

Great googlie mooglie! They both grew 2 inches overnight.

This is Lilli’s main. She is showing peace signs. Looks like I won’t have a long wait for hedgehogs.

And those kool-aid colored stems, yo.

Checked on them late late - Pixi has some pistils now also, and they didn’t get any taller. Good thing, 2 inches a day was a bit much.

Gotta check pH today. Plus draw some water to age.

Right now, everything is running as best as it could. This nute line seems to keep the water “cleaner”, there has been nothing yucky in the valve compartments.

Good heavens, I didn’t know I was AWOL all week! Much off line business.

Today is day 1 of week 10, they have completed one week of 12/12.

You can see I put a few strings on Lilli. Not bending, just encouraging a bit of space between the branches. Pixi grew into a nice shape so other than plucking random leaves, she’s needed nothing.

They are both absolutely gorgeous. They look so happy and healthy. I am seriously blown away by both of them and how fast/big they’ve grown.

Fiz, befor moving to autopots nutes what were you using? I am having the hardest time trying to figure what to use. I read somewhere that organic nutes were bad for the autopots becuase they clog the lines.

Yes, don’t do organics. I always use some type of microbe when I grow, and last time the amount of slime that came out of the piping when I cleaned the system was eye popping. I did switch to a different microbial this time and the water in the pot modules looks very clean.

The last nutes I used was Growth Science. I like liquids b/c I measure my nutes using syringes which are much more accurate than measuring spoons.

I’ve changed my nutes every darn time I’ve grown. I’ve also used Grow Dots which were ok, and I bought another pelleted slow release nutes which I’m going to use with my next auto run. It is possible I’m going to run a pair of Gorilla Glues after these two are done. I grew one before and it was a 24 inch tall, 8 oz plant which I smoked for a year. Such good smoke!

It would be nice if the pelleted nutes worked well, it would be great to have a run where all I do is pH the water.

Thanks Fiz!

I definitely want liquids for the ease of measuring and mixing.

I was looking at the advance nutrients line. The hydroponic’s store recommended the General Hydroponics line or the Cyco brand but this was before I found out about the no organic stuff.

I truthfully want something that’s easy and screw up proof as possible lol. I’m always afraid of over or under feeding.

I did learn one new thing this run - the pH in the tank can drift! Pixi is very sensitive to pH fluctuation and the minute it drifts up to 6.0, she gets yellow on me.

So there’s a nugget for your Autopot use. Test the tank between fills, and adjust pH as needed.

Tonight, pistils are starting to pop up top so full fledged hedgehogs are a day or two away, I believe.

Lilli is 30.5 inches tall tonight, and Pixi is 29.5. Pixi has some insane number of tops, 21 I think. She would have been a perfect candidate for a screen. Especially since her stems are more slender than Lilli’s.

It’s very skunky in there too.

Temps have been ranging b/t about 78 - 80 overnight and around 72-73 during the day. So flipping day and night in the tent is working wonderfully.

I had checked last night and Lilli was at 31 inches, Pixi at 30. So growth is currently about .5 inches per day.

Baby hedgehogs had begun, and the little budlets have started growing too. Looking forward to their “day” so I can look at them.
