Hi everyone. I am just setting up my first in door grow space. I’ll be waiting for my tent for couple of weeks, so I’m setting up the MH bulb in a wardrobe set up for now. My question is, I have a
Lumatek ballast 400,Dimmable to 250 and I’m wondering can the ballast be left on the ground outside the wardrobe or does it have to be screwed into a wall or fixture. Any and all feedback would be appreciated 
My ballast is on the floor a foot away from my tent, and had zero issues with it powering up my 600w MH. I however am a new grower and never thought about that question.

Ah OK, must be OK if your not having issues, I dunno why I taught it would be an issue but just wanted to make sure. How’s your grow going??
It will be fine. Just be sure to place it on a brick or something NOT flammable. Don’t put it on carpet.

Mine is sitting on top of my tent. With a board under for the heat.

Thanks guys, I have wooden floors in the room and I’m glad now I hung onto a couple of left over tiles recently, as one can go under the ballast. I’m sure I’m be back with more questions soon
