First time seeing bugs on plant

Yes, my outdoor plants came indoors and did the Trojan Horse game.

You said they look like little spiders.
Which means they are likely spidermites like this

If this is the case.
I dont recommend lady bugs. They will eat them ofcourse but they prefer aphids.
I do recommend adding a predatory mite called Amblyseius Californicus these suckers main diet are spidermites and once the spidermites are gone will continue to colonise your medium surviving on fungal spores.
I also recommend doing a bud wash once you harvest.
Good luck

Fall 2023 grow had aphids.
Fall 2024 grow had spider mites.
Cloner and re-veg plan results from outdoor introductions to inside tent.
All part of learning.
Yes Ladybugs like aphids for dinner.

Tents cleaned and using preventative or proactive bug kill plan is effective, if followed properly. Spider mites had feast for last grow Afghan flowers.
Harvesting cut them short and hurt harvest and prevented bigger flower.
Sprays on seedling/vegetative crop may have helped.
How will you proceed?

These are spider mites… (two spotted) i will add that ive used capt jacks up to harvest day. Just make sure you do a 3 step bud wash when you harvest. That will wash bugs, bug poop, dust and hairs away.

1st 5 gal bucket
Lukewarm water
2 cups of baking soda
2 cups of lemon juice

2nd 5 gal bucket
Lukewarm water
2 cups hydrogen peroxide

3rd 5 gal bucket
Cold plain water (for rinsing)

After you wash, allow buds to drip dry about 6 to 12 hours before racking or hanging to start the drying process.

In the future try to keep your leaves moving with oscillating fans.
Every time one of my fans busted or even slowed down from age i wound up with spider mites. Back in the old days before the good quality grow room fans were born

Nasty things. Can devour a plant in no time

2 on the right: Spider mites
Left up: Aphidoidea
Left middle: thrip
Left down: i think it’s a male mosquitoe they feed on nectar

Here are some beneficial insects in agriculture that help control mites:

  1. Ladybugs (Ladybirds)

    • Certain species of ladybugs, such as Stethorus punctillum, specifically feed on plant mites (e.g., spider mites) and are effective in biological pest control.
  2. Lacewings

    • Lacewing larvae (e.g., Chrysoperla carnea) are active predators of mites and other small pests, playing a role in reducing mite populations.
  3. Predatory Bugs

    • Some predatory bugs, such as species of Orius (known as minute pirate bugs), feed on mites and other small pests, making them effective in biological control.
  4. Predatory Mites

    • Although they are mites themselves, species like Phytoseiulus persimilis and Neoseiulus californicus are specifically used to control spider mites and are highly beneficial in organic farming.
  5. Parasitic Wasps

    • Certain parasitic wasps, such as species of Anagyrus and Encarsia, indirectly contribute to mite control by managing other pests that may support mite populations.

These beneficial insects are part of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies, helping to reduce the use of chemical pesticides and maintain ecological balance.

Actually, listed for spider mite deterrent, I read, was keeping oscillating fan or air moving. It was listed as effective deterrent because ā€œit made sexual reproduction difficultā€.
All I know is the fan/air moving forcefully (low) is needed.

Out of curiosity what are you adding to this garden to get these bugs? I’ve been growing indoors for over 30 years, I have only seen spider mites but they are outside, Never in my gardens, There’s something you’re bringing in from the outside, That’s the only thing I can think of, What I’m seeing in your garden results in the outdoors

Im only add lotus nutriens to my plant thats it. Unless my dog is bringing something in or as we come in from work. I do not know. I sterilized my room. I grow in a closet so there is no telling. Ive been in and out of the hospital 4 times in the past 3 weeks cause of my seizures so havent been able to take care of it like i eant to other than the couple days in between

Yeah thats it. Those are spider mites. Ive been trying to google them. Ive been in and out of the hospital for 3 weeks now for my seizures so ive not been able to care for it to much other than the couple days im out. Been a rought few weeks

Thank you. I will definitly remember that. Ive actually had the same fan for 3 grows now. I grow in my closet so i use a box fan to help its a big closet so like to keep the air circulation alot. Not sure if thats a good thing with that kind of fan and should have a small fan on my plant then

Thank you. I have maybe 2 weeks looks like before harvest. Well 10 weeks anyways im keep looking at my tricombs. Looking good to that ways

I grow in my closet. Im gonna do a clean up and try to do what i can. I may order some lady bugs before harvest but i hate to put in my house and get an infestation of them lol. But i dont have another place to harvest so ill see what i need to do. Do ya have any idea on that part?

I dont grow in a tent grow in a closet. Which i hate i have some dead bug coming in tomorrow. But have to clean up after or before harveat cause thats the only room i have in house unless can find another way. And dont wanna put lady bugs just in house and get infestation of them. Any idea in the maybe another way of harvest? Sorry man

Harvest needs washing (32OZ H2O2/4 gal Distilled water).
Grow space need washing Space (8 oz alcohol/gal distilled).
Anti-bacterial wipes grow space final wipe down.
Clones from outdoor did me in. My fault.
Understand dead ladybugs issue.
TBT, Mrs Daisy is not thrilled either, upon finding dead LBs, let alone live ones…
10 years in Louisiana, where the roaches ride the gators and armadillos.
Ladybugs are small and die if the leave the plants.
For grow still growing one set of internet reading said rubbing alcohol and distilled water (16oz/1gal, respectively) for foliar and tops soil spraying.
Vacuum the plant or fan blowing, then spray at lights out.
Praying Mantis may work too.
I tried to freeze them, but that plant didn’t take the cold too well.

Look up Growers Ally. 15 bucks use up to harvest. This worked better for me for fungus and mites especially when flowering.

I use Jacks dead bug but honestly dont see much difference, i think aphids got worse using Jacks lol.

It definitely has an aroma for a few days

TBH, I’ve never run into these problems if I’m growing indoors, everything I use is for indoors, and I’ll never mix tools for outside & inside, I put up a tent indoors, no dirt from outside EVERYTHING IS BOUGHT FOR INDOORS ONLY, Has anyone ever read books by Ed Rosenthal? he’s a legit grower and uses words etc for beginners to understand, after 30 years of growing became as easy as driving a car, I understand how people are when they reach their 1st harvest, but I don’t like those that put in opinions and not be that, some even sabotage other’s plant and put the devil em,oji in it’s place, I almost gave up on forums, all opinions, if you really want to grow , you have to read from books , real growers that’ll teach you without the opinions
