First time hydro 4th grow in general

So just started a hydro dwc grow , right now my seedlings have germinated and sprouted im at about 1.5-2 weeks since dropping seed in a root riot pod just want to know if anyone can show me what week or what my plant should look like when i transfer to next stage of nutrients which i believe should be about 1000ppm 2.0ec ? Or is there a margain right now i got a bucket with 2.4ec 1160ppm i was gonna have waiting for a few days because my work schedule is tough so i could just swap quick…… i use jacks321 and have a blue lap truncheon and apera meter so i can have 2 readings to make sure im more precise

1000 pms on a seedling? I dont give my flowering coco plants that much but I’m no DWC guy.

You may wanna back up and study on it some more as that seems high to me.

Jack’s full strength is fine. In hydro you should also be running silica (which is mixed in first).

No right now its in a dwc bucket at 200pms but ive been reading at vegatation stage it goes up too 1200ppm 2.4ec which i have premixed in a seperate bucket but trying to figure out when i should tranfer into the higher ppm bucket from what it is now by hopefully a picture of the correct plant size

What brand silica do you recommend, i started with rapid root or something like that and a very low ppm like 200 because of a few things i read on here saying something like in hydro should always have nutes but i see alot of conflicting things posted

Any Potassium silicate will work.

For me i havent used silica and my stems and branches are very strong and thick. Not to say dont use it of course. I mostly notice some rubbery branches when water levels drop too much without reupping or topping off in the newer thinner branches. Im currently using lucas formula which is just micro and bloom nutes from general hydroponics that you slowly increase ml through veg and flower. Right now im at 800ppm with calmag added and about to flip her this weekend. Flower ppms will be 1000ish ppms. You can see my process for my first cannabis dwc grow in my how am i doing post if interested. My mistakes as well are there. Im not new to dwc just cannabis. Oh you should also watch your temps in the res to prevent root rot as well as use benificials. I use king crab compost tea from the makers or great white and orca. I also have a chiller.

You dont have to constantly put in new nutes but can do a top off method that you wait till the plant has drank the same amount of gallons of water initially in your res topping up with plain or ro water then refresh the res with new nutes. Thats more or less what i have been doing.

Silica is also necessary for the formation of trichomes: the trichome stalk is composed of silica.

Use of organics in hydro is problematic and should be very careful in it’s use.

I use Jack’s 3-2-1 program and have found nothing easier to use. Full strength from seedling to harvest. Vibrant green throughout the whole grow (usually). Done Lucas formula and it’s a lot more work than Jack’s.

Ive been hearing a lot about jacks. I’ll look into it for the next run maybe. I had a lot of GH nutes left from veggies i was doing in hydro so thats my biggest factor in using it for now.

Ok so full strength meaning what they have on that graph they have floating around here ? I have my 5 gallon bucket but 3.5 gallons of water in it so for part A. it said i think 3.79g per gallon so it would be 3.79x3.5 correct ? Also side question… i want to make my grow more visually appealing because the wife is not into this like me and its in our home i was thinking growing in a nano rimless frameless glass tank with some aquarium sculptures in the bottom but i also seen that maybe the roots shouldnt be exposed to light ? Will this kill my plant or do you know what harm could this do if any ?? I appreciate any help and input and ps i use jacks its been easiest an best quality for all my plants

Definitely want to keep light away from roots.

My muni water is 130 ppm. Normal mix for Jack’s is 3.6, 2.4, 1.2. Based on my base water I do 3-2-1 gram respectively. This puts me at 950 ppm or so.

Jack’s is also one of the most inexpensive nutrient lines available. It’s a JR Peters product and is likely one of their commercial nutrients re-packaged for cannabis.

A cannabis terrarium/vivarium would actually be kind of cool. But yeah, you dont want roots exposed to light.

@Myfriendis410 do you buy from their site or can you get it all on amazon?

I buy mine off of Amazon but I understand there are better deals on the E of Bay.
