First time growing outdoors

Ouch that sucks!

Yup.
Not my first rodeo.
Cant do outdoor before end of May (mornings too damp).
Normally PNW-Seattle AUG does not get rain (July, Aug and Sept).
Monsoon in Oct will rot the grow.
Measured 115,000
LUX, outdoors at 5PM.
First full day of sun in 8 days.
Indoors is difficult (for me), before Sept/oct.
It is what it is.
I harvest it all in a month.
Outdoors for seeds and indoors for smoke.
Never give up, DDD said.

Forum search will yield much information on multiple methods.
I learned my first two, in 1982. Not Duplicated but not forgotten for 40 years.
Now there are YT videos on everything.
To the moon and beyond, is the goal.

2 of the three flowering clones may have survived the flood.
Soon, I will dig up the blue tote clones and prepare to give them away.
If they survive the dissecting of the tote soil.

Hi Gaia69! I was wondering if I could get your opinion on this and because you’re in Central New York like I am I thought you might be able to help me. I trimmed all of the large fan leaves 10 days ago and on one side of one of my ā€œtreesā€ I noticed some black on a few of tops of a couple of the branches. I cut those off right away but I found another one today. Can you tell me if this is mold? I appreciate you, thanks.

Hi. I’ve been seeing some dark coloration on some few leaves as well. I’m growing 3 granddaddy purples and two White Widows, so I was surprised to see it in just a couple of places on each plant. So it worried me as well.

I did some more reading and learned that, if it were mold….dreaded botrytis!…I should be able to pull a sugar leaf out of the bud very easily. I can’t. Plus, it’s on the leaves and where they join the stems, not so much on buds. I think we’re okay. I’ve seen several posts about the same thing, too.

I’m actually hoping to get LOTS of dark purple before it’s over on these GDPs. I hope yours stay healthy. We have a week of dry air and sun coming up, so that’s hopeful.

Agreed, I am growing a lemon haze and a girl scout cookies extreme. I wish growing in the tent was this easy! I appreciate your feedback. My son asked me to grow a white widow for him next year. My brother got about 4 lbs. from the 2 white widows he grew last year. By the way what would be ratio of hydrogen peroxide to water? I want to make sure I am doing everything I can to ward off mold. I am getting ready to trim all of the large fan leaves again, now that is a pain in the ass! Thank you again for your feedback! Happy growing!!!

I don’t really measure carefully; I’m a bit of a chaos gardener. It’s worked for veg growing for decades and seemed to work equally well with weed. So, I use about a 3 or 4 to one ratio (water3-4: peroxide 1). Spray lightly and not too often. Like here and now, we have two more damp or rainy days followed by a prediction of 8 dry, sunny days. So I’ll spray if it seems necessary on Tuesday. Then I can try not to do anything after that. I’m no expert, though. I also tend to do this in far simpler ways than many I see here describing complex procedures and expensive supplies.

It is, after all, a weed,

I have a white powdery substance on one of my plants. Has anyone seen this before? I appreciate the feedback.

Thank you.

Can you take a look at my plant and let me know what you think? It looks like a white powdery substance that rubs off of the leaf easily, but it seems to only be on one of the plants.

I do appreciate you. Thank you.

Thats powdery mildew. Im in Ithaca and have been fighting this all season

You can put peroxide and water in a spray bottle with a 50/50 ratio and spray it on it

I’m sorry. Spectrum just came back after a lengthy outage. But I think you got good advice already. The peroxide mix advised is a bit stronger than I would use, but it is good advice. That’s a lot of WPM!

Thank you everyone! After spraying should I rinse them off with water or just spray them and let them go?

H2O2 will dissipate and become H2O.
Just spray at lights off, IMO

Sorry didnt see that was asked to a specific person. Didnt mean to butt in.

I sprayed already will that hurt them? Also how often should I spray them?

You’re the grower.
All grows are different.
My plants get rain on (daily, lately) and I can’t do anything.
Morning dampness is often low cloud 100% moisture,
So I pray for sunshine to dry.
My lilacs, have green leaves with white dust all over.
PNW-Island outdoor growing is like a bucking bronco.
Changes direction often, hang on for a wild ride.
Others will describe their spray and success.

I’d be worried about spreading it at this point. WPM sits undetected in soil, spreads when dry and windy, grows when damp or on weakened plants.
To fight it indoors people go dry and crank up all the fans spreading it then have a very hard time later with it. It’s not like other diseases.
I’d carefully put that in the garbage, not compost not leaf pile just gone.

Hello everyone, I just wanted to thank everyone who gave me great advice! Unfortunately my grow is done until April or May 2025. The WPM was covering at least 3/4 of each plant so I cut them down and bagged them up.
