Hello! Just wanted to introduce myself to the community, as I can tell I will be spending a lot of time on these forums! As my profile states, I am a complete novice when it comes to growing and have tons of questions!
My biggest question, the thing I’m most concerned about is lighting. I will only be growing 1 plant at a time and ordered a Roleadro 600W LED Full Spectrum light. Is that good enough for GSC autoflower seeds? Also, if anyone can advise on how to setup the light / how much light to give on a daily, etc I would greatly appreciate it.
Breakdown of what I will be using:
ILTGM GSC Autoflower Extreeme
Roleadro 600W LED Full Spectrum light
36x36x72 Grow Tent
Medium (5 Gallon) Grow Kit from apotforpot.com
6" desktop fan i plan on clipping to the inside of the tent.
Good enough for one plant at a time personal yield use?
Welcome aboard you will love it here. @dbrn32 is the lighting guru. I’ve tagged him so he will appear when he gets a chance. 5 gal pot in a 3 foot grow space and with the right care and attention shouldn’t be a problem. Peeps are really decent here so don’t be afraid to ask away.
You are concerned about the right stuff, so that is good. If you are going with one plant your light should be fine for it. You’ll want to upgrade as you grow (no pun intended) though. Keep reading a lot. There are a lot of good growers here to help you. Starting a journal here is the best way to get help all in one place.
Hey, thanks for the response and welcome! Yeah i figured lighting was probably the most important thing I had to worry about since i got the grow kit which says it brings everything you need except lighting. LOL Upgrade as I go…for now its one plant at a time LMAO
Nice welcome to the forum
Do you have a ph meter and calibration solutions to check and calibrate it? This alone keeps alot of problems away. If not i use the apera ph 60 and the replacement probes are about 12 bucks
The 2 main things that can make or break a grow are lights and ph meter don’t be cheap on these or will cost you in the long run big time
Your on the right track by asking questions and read, read everything on here and it will pay off big time in your tent
You should typically size your light to your growing space rather than desired plant count. There are multiple reasons for that, biggest is because your one plant could be really big. Or you could later decide to grow multiple smaller plants. But the lighting requirements for your space will never change unless you decide to get a different sized tent or build a different space.
I always recommend choosing lights that give you the total amount of radiometric flux so you know its proper for what you’re working in. Then you know, instead of just buying a light that’s advertised for a specific space but doesn’t give the data to support those claims. Quantum boards are very popular, qb 260 kit or qb 260 xw kit are ideal for 3x3.
LOL second grow more plants… problem is for now i only have that one light. PH meter…oh no, wasn’t aware i needed all that for an autoflower and using the grow kit which states it has everything needed…
@dbrn32 will the Roleadro 600W LED Full Spectrum light I bought get me through my first grow? Maybe I will upgrade for second grow.
Well sadly They are sold out and honestly I could t afford that one right now so I bought a TOLYS LED Grow Light, 1000W LED Full Spectrum Vege/Bloom light…will that help with my 600w or do I now just use the 1000w by itself?
