First time grower, HELP!

Its my first time growing anything. Ever. Ive got 6 seeds from fastbuds & i have no idea what they are. I fhink im going fo grow 1 or 2 in 5 gallon pots in a closet. Basically I took the frame of a clothes rack & built a geow tent, covered it in mylar. Ventilation is good, ive got a humidifier & a dehumidifier. I dont have alot left to spend & i need soil & lights. What should i do? I may have to go with FF Ocean Forest for now, since i shouldnt need any nutrients for a few weeks. Ive done enough due diligence that im already burnt out on the subject. Im ready to get started. Really, whats the cheapest light setup that wont hurt my results? Ive thought of buying bulbs & building a frame & mounting light to it where i can lower/raise it easily. Also, ive got alot of reg white led light panels i vas wondering if i could basically cover the inside of the tent with those & pur a few full spec or red bulbs woth it?

Ideally you’ll want to have about 35 watts minimum per square foot of grow space with good LEDs.

Do you know what bulbs you currently have? Or the spectrum of led diodes?

What are the dimensions of your space?

If you’re looking at a smaller footprint you can get by with a decent LED for pretty cheap nowadays. I would avoid anything that has more a a purple hue like the cheap lights on Amazon that advertise super high wattage in a small package. We call those blurple lights and they get hot for LED and they’re usually pretty underpowered for what they say they are.

I’ll tag @dbrn32 as he is our resident light guru. He should be able to walk you through building a LED setup.

Welcome to the community. Congratulations on your decision to become addicted to growing. It happens automatically on your first grow. Lights will be your most important part of your grow. I would also consider hydroponic or auto watering pots. It’s much easier for me. New growers sometimes struggle with watering, under watering or over watering. FF products are good and will work fine if you choose to go that route. I’ve use happy frog and ocean forest mix 50/50. HLG lights are some of the best. Just get enough wattage for flower stage and be sure you don’t overload the circuit it’s plugged into. Good luck with your decisions. This group will help you be successful with your grow they are experienced with any ups and downs you may face.

Welcome. Are you going to grow in a bigger space in the near future if this goes well. And how many oz’s what results you want. I agree with the numbers above for watts, of quality LED. I got no recommendation but good start

How big is the closet you’ll be growing in and what are the specs on lights you have?

Space is critical. Need to know about future grows as well. Remember that quality is better than quantity… How many plants do you plan to grow atva time?

I got the 5 pk of seeds from fast buds. I was just going to start 1 or 2 plants in a 3Ă—3 closet, but i can use the whole room later. I also live on 37 acres that my wifes grandparents had a berry farm on, i just want a little more control rn than. I think ill have outside.

Some of my autoflower didn’t sprout roots all the way I still planted them in a small 12 cups led lit tray. How much light do they need?? They haven’t come up from the top of the soil yet so do I still give them a little light? Or is it better to keep them in darkness until they sprout out of the soil??

They don’t need light to sprout, but having a light on won’t hurt them either. Usually just a little bit of moisture and warm enough conditions will do.

Thank you bud. They’re starting to sprout now! Got home from work and 3 had sprouted!!
