First time grow CA

Hey guys, long time lurker here and I’m on my first time grow and I just wanted to share. A little about me: I’m doing a semi-legal grow here in CA (I’m only supposed to have 6 plants but fudge it lol), I currently have everything in a 5 x 5 tent and my main light is a viparspectra 900w but I also have 2 300w roleandro on the sides for coverage. The 4 big plants are Hash (from another site). I got that strain because of it’s high CBD (almost 4%). I’m not even a smoker and haven’t tried it in 15 years. I’m growing primarily to help my dad out. He’s starting to get neuropathy from the onset of diabetes and I just wanted to try to help him out with the chronic pain. He’s never smoked in his life so I was kind of surprised when he seemed open to the idea. I also have 6 WW photos from ilgm going and I’m hoping to just be able to grow constantly as I learn.

My question is should I start going into flower now with my 4 main hash plants? The tallest is 27" high from the bottom of the pot and I have 80" of height in my tent. The site I bought them from doesn’t give an approximate grow height and even though it’s 80% Indica some of the comments on the strain said their outdoor grows got to 9’ high. I obviously just don’t want to run out of room. They’ve been vegging for about 2 months now so I’m thinking it’s time to switch over to 12/12?

I do have another 2x4 tent that I can use for veg for my WW so the light differences won’t be an issue.

Really just depends on how big you want them I’m currently using flower power nutrients in it calls for a four week veg then 12 on 12 off you can put them into flower any time

I’m no indoor grower, but they look dam good to me… some one will be along soon enough to answer your question. Nice 1st start.

It’s really up to you as to when, but they will really start to put on vegetable mass now. If you give it another month I think you will still have room for stretch and get a good yield, maximizing your grow space.

They look good and healthy. I’d say whenever you’re ready to flip to 12/12 go for it! :+1:

Thanks for your input guys. I’ll prob veg at least a few more weeks and see if I can get them to grow out a bit more before I go into flower.

You have lots of options. Keep us posted.

Just wanted to update you guys on my progress. I decided to let them veg for 1 more week then I put them on 12/12. Tomorrow will be week 4 of it so I’m now 2 weeks into flower by most people’s definition. Here’s some pics of the progress:
