i’m looking at a Vivosun 96x48x72 tent to put in my basement, and wondering for that size rectangle shape what size and how many lights would be best. it’s a bit confusing, i was looking at Bestva 1000 or 1500w led’s due to the 100,000 hrs claim and should it be hydro which i’ve never done, or dirt etc. i thought this would be fairly easy but there seem to be more issues involved than expected
Let’s start with the lights, going with Bestva 1500w (which are 260 actual watts), you would need about 50 watts per sq ft (for older LED tech like the Bestva) for decent coverage. The 4x8 tent is 32 sq ft x 50 (watts) = 1600 watts / 260 (Bestva 1500w watts each) = 6.15 lights. So you would need at least 6 of the Bestva 1500w to adequately light that tent.

thanks a bunch for the 50watts per sq ft info, i’m not opposed to newer led tech lights, do they require fewer watts per sq ft,? most lights seemed like they wanted a more square area to light but i am probably wrong if it’s more about watts per sq ft, the 1500w Bestva said it lit a 6.5 x 6.5 , sq ft , and with a 4ft width tent it was confusing. also any better lighting recommendations will be a big help as well and thanks again Hellraiser
