Just wanted to share a pic of my first plant using living soil. She looks lovely to me. Ilgm ww photo. 3 weeks & 1 day old. Watering is my biggest challenge and I’ve overwatered a couple of times but she picks herself up ok. Still learning.
The little laddie looks nice and green. How big of pot is it in and how many plants and in the pot? It looks like there is a second plant to the right.
Hey,
Yeah there is two in the pot. I’m not sure what to do. They grew so big so quick! I wasn’t having much luck with germination so planted two seeds directly into soil and they both broke ground and grew rapidly. Might need to sacrifice one to benefit the other seeing as it’s only 5 gallon pot. Idk. The little plant on the left is around the same age…
Hey,
It’s a cover crop/garden. It has in it grasses, clover etc… I’m no expert. For example, certain grass/rye etc can pull nitrogen out of the air and give to plant. I have also topdressed a couple of times with kelp meal, alfalfa and a little gypsum for calcium. Still learning.
Cheers
If you go to the guides there’s one about companion planting and it says growing basil
Increased Oil Production. When it comes to growing cannabis, you always want more product either for yourself or to sell to your customers. Growing basil as a companion plant increases oil production and resin content of the buds harvested.
I’m getting some for my outside grow ASAP! LOL
I wouldn’t sacrifice anything I’d find another pot though.
I’d separate those two but it might be too late their roots are most likely intertwined. If I couldn’t separate I’d eliminate the smaller one. Usually two plants in one pot doesn’t end well.
are they autos or photos?
Autos generally don’t get as large and of photos you can flip earlier to help keep size down.
I’d let them both grow out and just train them to share the center by tying them down and thinning them out.
I’m just finishing a grow with all of them in 1 gallon pots all organic with cover crops.
Wanted to see how it went using small pots and although they are a smaller size than I would have had using larger pots they will each yield about 3 ounces give or take.
Why not see what happens letting them both share that pot. I’ve had 4 different strains in the same pot although the pot was a 40 gallon size.
You’ll need to water them more often but should be fine.
Imho I think you should wait and see the sex of the plants before deciding what to actually do but concerning the separation it should prolly happen soon rather than later if you’re going to want to do anything with either of them….a little bit of stress on the roots early on is better than trashing something later cause it was just too late to actually move and it died ya dig…? Good luck
Thanks buddy,
I’ve decided to flip them, they are 4 weeks old now. Autos usually start the flowering process around this age.
One plant next time.
Lesson learnt…
