Hello. First time grower and poster. I posted this in the wrong area as I’m still getting used to navigating the forum. I’m growing one of my five auto White Widow seeds from ILGM. I’m using Fox Farm soil and trio nutes. Growing outdoor in 3 gallon bag and bringing her in at night. She’s almost 6 weeks old and just starting to show pistils on a few main colas.
I’m starting to worry about the size of my bag and if it will cause her to get root bound. No signs of it now but I’m worried about it happening deeper into flowering. Is transplant necessary or possible this late in the game? I was thinking of adding a couple additional inches of soil to the top to promote new root growth or just more space.
Any advice and insights would be greatly appreciated.
Welcome , I would finish it out in the 3 gallon fabric pot . a lot of people grow autos in 3 gallon pots. Your plant looks good. Good luck finishing up !
Leave it in the 3 gallon @MarkM . I’ve grown quite a few autos and 3 gallons doesn’t yield much different than 5. I’ve even used 7 gallons and that was a waste of soil. There’s also a very good chance that you will stunt the auto by transplanting it. You should do that when they are young.
10 gallon pot were good for my self image. 3- gallon pots (in use currently) are nice, light (2/3 full), and appreciated by Hernia. 4 Gallon buckets (4/5 full, Top-Dresser, I am), not as soil/breather friendly as bags. Maybe 3 gallon-FULL or 5 gallon 3/4 full cloth bags. Drip/raiser pans required. My vote.
Hey there i would let it go in the 3 gallon fabric pot cause ur plant is healthy and doing a transplant now could shock her and stunt the plants growth a lot of people use three gallon pots
I have tried other size fabric planters(2, 3, 5) but now use only 3 gal size. My auto yield is pretty consistent at 1/4 lb finished bud per plant.
Indoors, 2x TS-1000 lights in 32x48 (approx) grow space. 3 or 4 plants in different growth stages continuously.
