I see youāve got a net, are you trying to grow Scrog style?
How tall is your tent, how tall are the plants currently?
If you just transplanted, Iād give them at least another week before flipping.
If youāre growing Scrog, You donāt have to worry much about the stretch. Iād raise the net another 4ā and begin folding the branches back as they grow through. Once itās 80% full Iād flip to 12/12. Theyāll fill that up in no time.
Thank you for the response!
I put a scrog in place with the idea of keeping the canopy as level as possible. And my tent is at 7ft. I do have an extension for 8ft if needed. I have one blue cookies and three forbidden fruit plants in this tent.
The plants are currently around 19 inches**
Iād raise the net 4ā, let them grow into it, fold them as they get higher, and when the net is 80% full switch to 12/12. Keep folding until you see pre flowers. Theyāll probably stretch another 4ā-12ā above the net depending on strain.
Youāll have plenty of vertical room.
Is the net strung or bungee? Bungee isnāt the best. The openings are also seemingly large. Regardless itāll work.
Looking good so far.
I appreciate the input and will be raising the scrog. I did agree with it being abit weird with the size of holes being so large and sadly it is bungee. Iāll be looking into strung nets with smaller holes for the future. Thank you again!
Itās not optimal, and some areas may grow higher than others, but itāll work.
Ask away if you have more questions.
I made a pretty good scrog screen just by running a bigger gage wire around outside then weaving it together. Plastic wind screens work as well. Iām a bend and tie instead of bend and tuck guy though
Thatās what I am all about now. Had to remove one screen, never again. Tie it up.
Iām a Tuckerā¦been called worseā¦lol they look good though man, you did some topān it looks, got a plan in motion, clean tent, kept it to 4 plants. The future is bright w/ this one. Good luck @Chef - you can summon us by adding the @ symbol and our name. Get some more pics up - we love pot porn. Keep it clean no childrenā¦ lol just kidding We love looking at little girlsā¦- sorry Epstein, PLANTS!!!
Thank you for all the kind feedback, appreciate it! And the plant on the bottom right of the picture was extremely small compared to all the others for the first few weeks. I implemented tying down/LST on the other plants but she just didnāt have that height and I topped her instead to try out both methods for this first grow. Seems to have worked well since sheās caught up with the others lol!
@Not2SureYet does a stellar job with bungee material and SCROG. So much so I am thinking of modifying my setup.
Hereās an example of a full screen after transition:
Also IMO best to wait until the plant shows signs of sexual maturity.
Yup! Thatās what you are looking for.
@Chef, you can add more lines to the net you have if you wanted too. This is a scrog I just built. it is a 2 part that can be made into a 8ā scrog. If you look at the line locations in the first picture. And then the second. You will see the advantages of this set up. I can move the lines to where I want them. I can add more lines if I need as well. The ones I donāt need right away can be slid over to the side. When I remove the plant for harvest. I can easily remove each line leaving the plant open. The legs of my scrog can be adjusted if I wanted to raise or lower the top. The one thing I will do when this plant is done. is to add some shrink tubing over each end so they slide through the plant easier when I remove a line. I flipped it between the first and second picture. If you want to use clips on these. I have found using white trellis clips work great to tie the plants to the top of the scrog and can be easily seen with a black light when you want to remove them.
This is it now. I am removing
That is extremely innovative and love the idea of its usability. I had noticed problems that could occur later on in the grow and less accessibility with the current scrog Iām using. Iām going to look into the materials and try to put one of your contraptions together myself! Smart thinking and thank you for sharing the idea! (:
I used shower curtain rings for the sliders. I got 100 of them cheap on amazon along with the cord. I wanted some thing that would make things easier for me. This is a video I did to show why it is nice to use
First bit of flowering starting to take place on day 8 since transitioning. Iām guessing the dark color? Purplish color is because the plant is forbidden fruit and has purple buds?
That is going to look super nice once it starts making buds. very nice
