Hey guys, first grow here , I’m starting this journal and am gonna try to consolidate my other topics here, but I’m running 3 phenos of Banana Blaze by Dutch passion, 1 Sour Deisel pheno breeder ( can’t remember maybe dirty bird gen ) and 1 Barney’s farms Wedding Cake, they are 3.5-4 weeks from emergence , with the exception of the wedding cake obviously
she’s 6 days
Good luck with your grow!
Hey boss would you possibly be able to bring my “ new tk coco “ topic content here?
Looking good growmie
Welcome to the forum! Looking good! ![]()
Well done Grow Bro ![]()
So new to coco and my plants are currently loving life theyre 9” or so across in 15 days, but I’m pretty sure that I’m not watering properly and I’m scared of both overwatering, and of potentially ending up with toxic salt buildup, I’m in 5” wide circular pots about 6” tall , the medium is coco loco which is a fox farm amended coco light mix and I’m feeding 100 ppm every other watering, I wasn’t seeing any run off so I looked and realized the pot company had put these thin plastic caps up inside the drain holes, so I obviously removed them immediately and watered with plain ph 6.2 water until I got about 17 percent runoff, my questions are 1-am I watering correctly to 15-20 percent run off, and 2- are there any serious problems I may have caused by not catching those caps? Even though I don’t see any issues yet? ( I can’t respond to messages till tonight lol )
Welcome! Coco loco gets treated as soil not straight coco. So your ph and ppm will be different. Also, no need to feed until about 4 weeks in in that media. If you have pics of the whole plant and your setup that would be great and we can go from there.
@OGIncognito is great with coco loco and got me hooked on it. Tagging him in for some guidance.
Thanks for the tag Brother, @Ozrich23 as mentioned treat the coco loco like soil and if you’re hand watering go in at 6.5 and use a drench to drought routine. Run off isn’t needed with the organically amended Coco loco until you introduce salt based fertilizer. Keep the same drench to drought with ample run off after 4 and fertilizer ![]()
Thanks guys , I appreciate it, I’m new here so a little nervous about posting pictures lol but everyone is super happy and will be going into their final pots soon , also for this final transplant ( only transplant really) I’ve mixed them a 60/40 mix of coco loco and ocean forest to provide a nice nutrient safety net for the remaining grow. My feeding schedule is supplemental in purpose not the primary diet, my intent is to take advantage of a rich rhizosphere as well as reap the root benifets of coco , so far my hybrid method has yielded great results, I’ve been feeding but very very minimally, just 1-200 ppm of grow a/b ph 6.2 -6.4 and even then I was only feeding about 150 mls and watering it in with clean water, I’m basically watching the plants, writing down who gets what and observing reactions, so far I’ve seen a massive difference between feed vs no feed and they were responding well so I put everyone on the same schedule, my intention is to continue my method on a water/water/feed schedule with an increase of about 50 ppm weekly, I am brand new to this personally so I’m sure I’m likely to overthink it
but I couldn’t be happier rn they are monsters for just 16/15/12/12 days old respectively
I couldn’t open their door big cold front rn but they are 16/15/12/12 days respectively and they look about right size to date wise
I’m glad to have found someone else who’s into amended coco , I love it, you get the fluffy root happy benifets with the slow release nutrients and a rhizosphere , I may not have anything to compare it to but I seriously doubt this crazy success on grow 1 is all me, I attribute it to this medium
So they are -the 3 sitting on the ceramic plates in the fab pot
, banana blaze by Dutch passion, the small one- Diesel strain unknown breeder ( freebie) I’ve also got a mystery indica from the 70s but I’m not including it in the posts just because I didn’t grow it , it’s a rescue from my buddy he overwatered it got it root bound and snapped it’s base lol I treated it and it’s definitely alive and making mature leaves but it’s tiny
it’s like a miniature
I would recommend to feed water at a PH of 6.5 for either of these 2 mediums Grow Bro. You’ll need to amend with either salt based fertilizer nutrients or scratch in organic nutrients. I haven’t seen an amended medium that will feed the plants from start to finish. Their appetite will increase dramatically during the flower transition and through week 6ish of flower before slowing down ![]()
Looking happy and healthy ![]()

Exactly, that’s my plan theyre all on 100 ppm now as an “ introductory “ dose I plan to increase incrementaly until I’m at the recommended strength and they’re still responding positively. I’m running advanced nutrients conesoir line grow a and b ( which includes calcium and magnesium) I’ve got a bloom line together as well all from the same chelated line and I am watching my ph , I was aiming for a ph of 6.5 but had heard coco can counteract so I undershot on purpose, I will bump it back up to 6.5
there’s so much info out there, so many decisions, each one compounding the others, I won’t lie this has been tougher than expected
Thanks for the info brother I’ve been stressing hard , freaking over the slightest downturn tip or slightly lighter green
I drowned my first test seedling in soil lol, so I worked out new mediums and I’ve been watching like a hawk with an anxiety disorder being a plant hypochondriac so I’m glad to hear im doing okay from people who know ![]()
Looking good so far!! One observation, make sure you have plenty of drainage holes in those plastic pots. With my coco loco I don’t feed anything for the first 4 weeks from when they go into their final home. I’m using MC1 and Autopots this time, so I just mix, put it in the res and let them do their thing. I found that a ph of 6.5 works great for my plants. Rock on man, you’re doing great! ![]()
