First grow, gorilla glue, any advice appreciated

Hi everybody, good to be here. Please don’t lough too hard, I am completely Newby, trying to learn as it goes.
I got my baby plants, I been told it’s Gorilla Blue, and it’s very hungry for nutrients, my PPM should be around 1300-1400, would be nice to have some feedback on that.
I acctually started around 900ppm on Ebb & flow table with coco medium in 5g pots.
I was trying to copy the system my friend have, but don’t have full access… And don’t have access to the grower who sold me the baby plants. I know it might sounds ridicules, but how it is, just don’t want to bore you with all the details.

I have 2 1000W MH lamps with dimmable ballasts.

I use rock nutrients.

Questions.

  1. As I undertand, just coco no the best hydroponic medium. Is it any way I can correct this if I am on second week of grows?
  2. Is it a safe way to transfer the plants to a smaller pots with proper medium setup?
  3. Plants look good in general, but I am concern that a lot of purple color on top petioles. According to the Internet it’s sign of luck of Pottasium, but how I can correct it, if I use Rock complex nutrients. The fusion series for veg grows has NPK 6-2-6. Any ideas?
I will post some pics as soon as figure out, how to do that

You can transfer plants - stage of growth? if concerned about nutrients cut back on amounts of by useing just 1/4 amounts if plant is in seedling stage of growth

Answering question by garrygan62

Strain; Type, Bag seed, or NA - Gorilla Glue, bought 12 clones

Soil in pots, Hydroponic, or Coco? CocoCoir (Botanicare), Smart Pots 5gal,

System type? Ebb & Flow 4*8’ table

PH of runoff or solution in reservoir? Solution try to keep around 5.8, runoff measured ones, don’t remember exact number, will update tomorrow, but remember it was not to much of the difference with solution in res. I acctually did a mistake, moistering the coco with bottled water, pH was hight about 7+

What is strength of nutrient mix? EC, or TDS - Rock Fusion (NPK 6-2-6) + Rock root tonic + Azamax feeding at PPM around 900-1000, every day for 10 min, started to skip, feeding every other day

Indoor or Outdoor - Indoor

Light system, size? - 2 MH 1000W, with dimmable ballasts, started at 600w, now 750w, 10 plants under 1 lamp.

Temps; Day, Night - 72F to 76F running 24/7 lights on

Humidity; Day, Night - 20% - 60%

Ventilation system; Yes, No, Size - yes, 1000 CFM exthost fan with speed adjuster, running on 40% now, muffler, carbon filter

AC, Humidifier, De-humidifier, - have ac, do not run it now, it’s cold outside, have to heat up the room with the heater. Very dry air here. Have humidifier. As soon as I turn on cool function, the humidity going up to normal 40-60%, but temp dropping to 72F. Turning the “cool” off, humidity dropping dramatically to 15-20%

Co2; Yes, No - no, I am up in the mountains, elevation about 4000 feet, Pine forest around, I figure that if I have fresh air coming in, CO2 should be enough

Thank you!

Coco is an excellent hydro medium and I would be feeding more often than you currently are 15min every 2 hours or even a closer interval if it’s ebb and flow the nutrient are returning to the res if unused.
Running coco in hydro you treat it like hydro how old/large are your plants?

Thank you Donaldj, how about this post I found earlier:

MacGyverStonerBergman’s Lab Science OfficerOct '15 1

Coconut coir is hydrophilic, unlike dry peat/sphagnum moss which is hydrophobic, especially when totally dried out.

What this means is that coco absorbs and holds onto water very easily. And as such, it needs to be treated just like soil or most hydrophilic soil-less media. And it should be watered to full saturation, and then not watered again until almost totally dry. this might be every day in some cases, and it might be once a week, or even less often, in others. This will depend on the size of the container, the size and development of the plant, and how much water it uses depending on its stage of growth.

?

I have only 10 plants to start with. 6 of them are about 1’ tall, other 4 about half of the ft. I am in second week of veg.

we have members using coco in dwc with great success and I know many local growers that use it just like leca/hydroton it absorbs moisture but once wet it lets everything drain right through soil like mixes absorb water and retain far more water you can easily over saturate Pro-mix and the like. Having used coco hand watered I know how little water it will absorb once it is moistened and how easily it runs straight through it as a medium. It requires some adjustment to get times and duration down no feeds during dark but otherwise as I said feed more often treat just like hydro you are bottom watering not top watering so the plant will get lots of air to the root zone

Thank you Donaldj!
What guidance should I follow or “rule of sumb” if such. How many times and for how long should I ford them?

Also, everyone, please help! Azamax heavy overdose.

This case might be interesting for some research. I think I burned my plants by Azamax. I found spidermytes on some of plants, panicked, prepared the Azamax spray, and sprayed the plants. Then I realized, I missred the instructions, and applied almost 50% solution of Azamax. About 60% of the leafs are have signs of burning.
What can I do to help plants to survive?

Hold on guys, In his reply to the support Ticket

I do believe he has to address this PH At 7+ don’t you aggree ?
Then these plants at least six of them are only one inch high. How can they be in 2nd week of vegg.

At one inch high. Dont make scents to me and then he states if i’m reading this wright has been feeding nutrients every day for 10 days then went every other day. Isn’t this way to earley to be feeding seedlings.
At one inch there seedlings to me. Or am I mistaken?
Below is what he said and what i’m concerned with.

And then he states that he has only 10 plants to start with. 6 of them are about 1’ tall, other 4 about half of the ft. I am in second week of veg.

It’s not the coco he should be worried about or we should be concerned about, but the purple color on top petioles. According to the Internet it’s sign of luck of Pottasium, but how I can correct it,
I’m just trying to get back to the problem at hand.

Will

I would strongly agree addressing initial moisturing coco with 7+ pH. I knew, but I was in a hurry had some issues with clean water, simply forgot about it.
Now, water in res are around 7pH every time when I am ready to feed plants. At the same time, I measured the pH of water running off from the pot lifted, it’s always shows normal pH 5.8-6. That what got me confused.
Anyway, what the best way to fix the pH of the coco? Make new pots with moisture coco with right pH?
Or just try to flush it with some solution?
Thank you!

Stop useing that stuff. I don’t think you can do any thing to stop what you have done but to stop useing it and get some of this stuff…
