First grow ever! Auto BBY

@Missiles, Yes I did get my meter the other day. FIRST…let me apologize for calling you bro…I really didn’t mean any disrespect. My assumption just made an ass of me:face_with_symbols_over_mouth::face_with_symbols_over_mouth:…so sorry! @Jbum thanks for the correction as well.

Now, if I can get this foot out of my mouth…:joy::joy::joy:…yes the reading I got the other day after 1/2 strength nutes watering was about 572 I think. I’ve seen the charts and stuff and they say my ppms should be around 1000. I don’t know how to get it that strong.:smiley::smiley:

Hahaha no worries man! That’s sort of my fault I had it on my profile at one point but I changed it up and it don’t say it no more LOL it happens all the time

When you fed her what all did you give her and how much? Also what all nutrients do you have available to give her? You might need to up your dosages.

I’m leaving for work now but as soon as I get there and get settled and get a cup of coffee LOL I’ll be back on

So I have FF nutes which is the tiger bloom, big bloom, and liquid plant food. I mixed 1 1/2 teaspoons of each into a gallon of water and then I ph’d the water to 6.7-6.8. I only gave them 20oz each. They are blueberry autos in five gallon fabric buckets, with FFOF soil, but they only have 3/4 full of the soil.

Thank you for your forgiveness and your willingness to help me. These are my first two plants ever so the fact that one has buds now it’s just amazing to me! This website and support group is really just amazing the way people help each other. I really really enjoy this group of people!

Okay you definitely want to be giving her all three of the liquid nutrients at this point. Half strength is good until we get her figured out. At this point you should be able to run almost that whole gallon through her. She is big enough to handle it. You always want to water/feed to 20% runoff to make sure your breaking up the salts in your soil. At only giving her 20 ounces I don’t think she is getting enough. When you do water/feed to 20% runoff you always want to check your ppm’s coming out also. This let’s you know how much of the food your giving her she is eating.

You are more than welcome  I love this site too! I would have never got through my first harvest without it

Ok cool. I was scared to water too much cause most people say overwatering is something you can’t come back from. Which also means I need a bigger water runoff tray too. I checked the soil this morning and it was still moist, so I want to wait until it’s dry to water again…right?

Yes definitely. We don’t want to add anymore stress to her  when she is ready I would give her some food lol

Great! I actually just got back home and I ran my pointer finger down in the soil and I could feel that the soil at the bottom is dry and maybe the first inch or two was moist. Would you recommend going ahead today with the feeding?

No actually I would wait a day or two until you can stick your finger down a few inches from the top and it be dry.

Pics from this morning! I added about 40oz each plant of 1/2 strength liquid plant food, big bloom and tiger bloom. Plus ph’d the water at 6.7 we will see how this does.

Good morning. Were you able to get at least 20% runoff when you fed them? Did you check the ppm’s of your run off?

Good morning!!:grin: I don’t know about the 20% run off or how to go about that…lmao:joy::joy:, but I did check my ppms and they were at 793…? It seemed like if I would have left it in the water longer it would have went up. I was rushed a lil this morning and had to have some more coffee too so I couldn’t sit there but I gave it at least a min or two in the water.

What I did was I had a little less than a full gallon (maybe 3/4) so I split it up between the two plants. If you can see the smaller one I did some LST on and it really stopped growing for a while. She doesn’t even have any buds on her yet. But the other one looks like…holy cow she’s almost ready to smoke…hahaha :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:just kidding I know it will take a little longer for her but not too much. The kicker is that I started both seeds at the same exact time but the one that’s got buds on it now took way longer to even sprout. I even sat down this morning and smoked with them. I heard that breathing on them is good for them as well:thinking::thinking::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Your in a 5 gal fabric pot correct? When you are feeding or watering one of your plants you should be giving one of them the whole gallon or 3/4 gallon. They are definitely old enough and big enough to handle it. You want to run enough water/feed through them that it starts coming out of the bottom of the pot and catch the runoff in a tray of some sort. Do this until about 20% of what your putting in the top comes out the bottom. Once your done collecting your runoff check the ppm’s of it and this lets you know how much she is actually eating.

It is almost a must in the soil your in to water to runoff like that because it breaks up the salts in the soil. If you don’t it can cause nutrient lockout.

Haha and yes I’ve heard the extra oxygen is good for them. When I water I sit and smoke pot with them

Oh ok cool :+1:! Yes my pots are fabric but my soil is only maybe halfway to 3/4 of the full in the pots. I did that so that when I watered there wouldn’t be overflow over the edges but then after the fact I learned they needed a tray to collect run off. I do not have a really good tray, but it kind of works lol! I will have to do something better and bigger in order to catch that kind of run off. Awesome thank you!!!

Your welcome  yeah next time you plant some go ahead and fill the pot full of the soil because I’m sure you noticed as you’ve been watering the soil compacts down. The only thing I’m worried about with you having that little of soil is them getting root bound. We will just need to keep an eye out as they get older.

When I first started growing I used an old Rubbermaid pan to catch my runoff in LOL it don’t have to be anything fancy cuz once you check the ppm’s on it you’re going to dump it anyhow lol

Good morning!!! Oh yeah, that’s a great idea!!..lol I haven’t even thought about that as an option:thinking::thinking:…yes I have seen that my soil is prob down to halfway now. Could I just add some more regular soil to the top of it and that help?
