This is my very first grow. Gold Leaf autoflower grown indoor in a small grow tent. I’m at 7 weeks and don’t want to harvest too soon or too late. I suppose this is a lot of peoples concern with their first grow. So here are some photos of the plants (3) and some closeups of the buds and trichomes. Looking forward to any advice. Thanks - David
Very nice ! you still have several weeks to go. Not uncommon for a auto plant to run 14 weeks.

Thanks for the reply! I never thought that at 68 years old I’d be as nervous as a long-tailed cat on a porch full of rocking chairs. I want so bad for this to turn out as well as possible…

She still has like 4 weeks maybe a longer. She’ll let you know when she’s ready. They’re looking good though.
You giving her any flowing nutrients?
Grow looks fine ! You might clean out around the bottom of the plants a bit to create better air flow. Looks to be a little tight.

Yes, kellydans. I have already decided that I’d only grow two plants in the tent for the next grow as this is really tight and made it difficult to do the LST thing with the plants. Learning all the time.
When you suggest cleaning out at the bottom, would that be just foliage, or would you clean out soem of the non-productive buds as well?
Take a few leaves out especially the yellow ones.

Keep the exhaust fan runing 24 /7 an at least one circulating fan. That will cut down on changes of mold or White powder mildew.
@Deadhead5 yeah she’s definitely got a few more weeks. Looks nice tho. Those Fox Farm nutrients are definitely solid too. I use the same three as in the pic u posted. I also use their soil and I’ve had some great results so far. This is my GG4 auto right now

Patients my friend youve got a ways to go still. I’d say more like 6 weeks looking at the bottom picture. I wouldn’t even be looking at the trichomes yet. You need to wait for nearly all the white hairs to turn brown and recede back into the calyx’s then start checking trichomes.

Thanks @Deadhead5 she just turned 12 weeks old today and she started flowering exactly 6 weeks ago. She was a little late flowering after I topped her and incorporated some LST but she blew up once she did. Ive got another 2 weeks left on mine I’d say so urs definitely has about 5-6 more.
I agree. Clean out the bottom. girls can’t breathe. Someone on here told me to look straight down into your plant and if you can’t see dirt, time to clean up. Welcome to your new happy place

I tooke off alot at the bottom, probably too much, but it’s only my second grow and I’m still learning. But definitely wanna clean the bottom up for sure. It allows for air circulation and it also forces the nutrients and energy upwards, to the tops of the branches making the buds much bigger

Hey there @Deadhead5, your buds look real nice. Good close up of the trichomes. You have more time than you know. Forget the number of weeks. I had an auto Northern Lights go nearly 17 weeks, while the NL plant next to it, in the same tent was done in 12. Sit back and enjoy the ride. Those white pistils need to turn @ 90% rusty and curled inward. Then you need to check the trichomes ON THE BUDS, not the ones on the leaves which will go amber first. When the bud trichs start to amber you are at peek potency. Your patience will be rewarded with fatter buds than they are now.
Just keep in mind, it’s pretty hard to over ripen one, but very easy to harvest to soon. Plants look good, but many weeks to go.
