@Hempqueen9 what hood you running a Grander D.E. or 600 or 400 , do they still sell 400’s are it’s 315w Lec replaced the 400 mh ?
I was thinking about the Ipower 600 watt hps/mh setup which has an air cooled hood (duct can connect to both sides of the light) but the heat is going to be the drawback for where I am currently growing. So I am looking into to the chilled tech X3 330 or the Hlg 350r
What about winter? That good would come into much needed used ? I’m not sure which of those is best of the 2 , I’m in search if a light as well . I know the HLG 350R is a beast , but any Led panels now with those strong Samsung diodes white and red is doing great umols/j , I know white light creates rapid foliage foliage growth and strong red is what you want for budding , now blue light helps the resin profiles and terpens . I can kind of give you a suggestion kind sort of just saying , maybe two affordable quantum boards HLG on each side of 315 hood which would help you in the winter months and in the heat the quantum boards can always run by them selves and the 315 can stay off .
@HappyHydroGrower here’s my started grow journal… I am very behind in updating the pictures and such, I’ve been waiting for my full setup. And then life happened I’ll update when the Hlg comes in!
So quick update with a few pictures of the babies…
I know, I know… I haven’t transplanted them yet I was going to when I got my hps/mh light and then realized I couldn’t use it for the time being, so I’m waiting until I get my hlg light and then will transplant them all into a 1gal nursery pot and move them to the 2x2 space.
I figured that this grow’s yield is probably going to be messed up because of the delay in transplanting (I’m not sure, especially because they’re photos). I’ll be getting some rooting hormone to help with the transplant shock and such.
If I end up being able to move and use my full 3x4 space I’ll get another hlg 135rspec for keeping two (might see how 3 goes cause I’m curious ) but the other plants I can’t keep, I’ll have to find them a new home
The update everyone (or no one ) has been waiting for!!
Finally transplanted my babies (rooting hormone added) to the 1gal nursery pot and moved them into the larger chamber with the new lighting… Oh my gosh, ya’ll. The day to day growth is unreal with this hlg 135 rspec! Thank you soo much for the advice to get it
Now for the pictures!
Finally fed with the correct EC & pH solution today, for transplant, and I felt like a damn chemist!
Fed with cal-mag, silica-blast, and the veg fert from the iglm fertilizer kit I’m on a 18/6 schedule!
Any advice for where my humidity and my temp needs to be during veg would be greatly appreciated!!
If I can keep my temps around 76-82 during the day, I feel like I’m doing good. Night time might be a degree or two cooler. Some plants may not tolerate high temps.
I run my lights on at night and off during the day.
During veg, 50-65% depending on whether or not they are sweating.
Keep’em growin!
@Hempqueen9 did you read that Epsom salt is 3 times better than silica to move more Chlorophyll through the plants stalks for a heavier yield?
I did not know that!! I was trying to use the silica to make my stems more ‘thick’ for where they were at! I have known that epsom salt is used in gardening but had no idea how it pertains to cannabis!
@Hempqueen9 it’s a great read on all what it does and it’s really a pest deterant also , so to me that’s a 2/1 with one simple household ingredient that don’t cost $25 and can triple a harvest , today was my first time watering with it , and immediately I can tell and see the benefits almost within 2 hours after watering at first light .
Thank you for the advice! I’ve been trying to keep my temp at 77-80°F and have been trying to keep the humidity about 60-70% humidity for the veg stage.
After switching over to the larger side, I’ve added a small humidifier. Hopefully, this will bring the temp down a bit and allow the humidity to build. My AC infinity fan keeps kicking on for the temp
Thank you for the insight! How much do you use?
1 tablespoon per gallon @Hempqueen9 and for your humidity , it don’t have to be 60% in veg, you can still veg at 11% just means you’ll have to foliar spray more often which helps raise it are cold fresh air are raising your lights , a swamp cooler , you can put a bucket of water with a big strong air stone that will create a mist from the bubbles which can helps also for humidity . I run my humidity from 35% to maybe 45% at all times cause to much humidity will cause a white mildew to build on the top of your soil cause of the organic life in the soil, so 30%-50% is perfect .
I was able to see my plants under proper lighting and get a decent picture… I don’t know what’s going on? Lighting or nute problem?
Correct me if I’m wrong, you’re using ilgm nute kit?
What brand name soil do you have?
Have you looked on the bottom side of leaves for bugs?
Maybe @Covertgrower @Hellraiser @NeoGroR @MadamCalamity @Mark0427 @Bulldognuts may have some suggestions.
I have ilgm brand nute kit and Coco coir/perlite (70/30) brand Cyco platinum series that I picked up from a hydro store near me.
I haven’t checked for any pests but I will do so, I feel like there’s a slim chance it may be pests.
Just checked, no pests! @HappyHydroGrower it has to be lighting or nutes.
I’m thinking because I’m using Coco and haven’t added any cal-mag that it may be a cal-mag deficiency?
Edited to add: Just did some looking into calcium and magnesium deficiencies and I definite believe that’s it’s a calcium deficiency issue.
I just added cal-mag to their feeding schedule today, so hopefully that will help resolve the issue.
When running full high quality LED lighting the need for calmag jump considerably. I add cal mag and back the lights off a touch when I see this. Usually fixes the problem.
I just made the jump to the Hlg light on Friday and hadn’t added any cal-mag at that point.
Today, I made the first ever correct EC/pH fert solution with cal-mag, silica, and ilgm veg fert for the transplant. Before Today, they’ve been getting rain water and diluted water. Also today, I raised the light about 4inches as well. I’m not sure if I can dim the Hlg 135 rspec or not…
I agree. You def probably need some calmag. Do you have an adjustment on your lights where you can dial them back a tad just long enough to let the plants get use to those lights? Or raise them some.
