First cheap grow grand daddy purple auto from ILGM

Decided to give indoor growing a go for a the first time I have a spare closet in the garage any questions comments and advice is appreciated. I wanted to go as cheap as possible for this first go and just get my toes wet and see what happens. I am growing in 7gal fabric pots in ffof soil I got a cheap light off Amazon I know it’s far from ideal but thought it will get me to harvest for the first time. I also have FF trio which I plan to use at week 3 or 4 and my seed is a grand daddy purple auto from ILGM which I placed in a glass of water for 2 days and got a little tail on it before placing it in the ground. Seed was planted this afternoon 8/12. I have also ordered a little fan to get some airflow going. Please let me know what you think.

This is my grow light
Grow Lights for Indoor Plants, Full Spectrum 420 LED Plant Lights for Seed Starting, 300W Plant Growing Lamp, Auto On/Off Timer 4/8/12 H Auto Cycles, 9 Dimmable Levels, Adjustable Gooseneck Amazon.com

That light will get you through the seedlings stage but that’s about it

If you want a successful grow you’ll have to get a different light or do outdoors

Thanks for the advice you don’t think I’ll get some flowers from it? As I said this grow is an experiment lol was looking at other lights but not sure at this point

My first post here, too. Good luck with your grow! Ditto the advice on better lighting, and right soon. I just finished a GDP feminized grow with seeds from here. Two plants, great harvest at 340 grams, including shake. I have a batch of Super Skunk now in week 4 of flower. When that is done I will be starting a G13 grow with seeds from here & will document here.

that is ANOTHER example of horrible marketing. i think if you get to reading in their literature they will “claim” it replaces a 300W CFL or other type of bulb and that it ACTUALLY draws (most likely around) 30W from the wall. You need a better light, for real  Welcome to the forum, you will find PLENTY of GOOD help here and just as PLENTY of good folks willing to help you succeed if you take the time to ask the questions  Even if you DO “get to harvest” and actually could make (a) bud, it would be so highly disappointing in quantity for the time/effort you put into caring for it

What cheap lights would you recommend I like the fact it’s on a stand

I mean, that depends on your definition of “cheap” lol. I was willing to spend UP TO 150.00 a light. i got some NICE lights, one kind for 119 (which was now 104 on amazon, grrrr, but they’re kind of a “blurple” color like what you have and lots here don’t think those are any good), and one that is BRIGHT white full spectrum, dimmable for 139.00 and it’s 200W (the other kind is 195W). I’m not gonna drop links yet, til some others chime in. don’t want you to make a decision on ONE person’s word or what worked for ME. I don’t know your budget , etc  you can go ALL OUT and spend several hundred to over a thousand on SOME brands of lights but i’m not trying to produce mass amounts of buddage like some commercial operation, lol. And i don’t have that kind of CHEESE to drop on a LIGHT, lol. If i was still married i’d PROBABLY get castrated for something like that. Knowing that mean thing she’d have probably cut’em off and put’em in her purse just so i’d NEVER have the “balls” to try something like that again

Haha fair ok I went and splurged got the sf1000 coming on Sunday I hope I made the right choice after doing some reading on here.

if it’s TRUE 100W from the wall power you will be fine. The driver and LEDs (Samsung) are the top notch on the market now but even those are “tiered” if you will by brightest to dimmest into bins i’ve learned. So even though it’s a Samsung LM301B, it may be in the “J” bin (from a-z, lol) due to not performing AS well as some of the others in bins A-I  if that makes sense. I think you’ll be fine for ONE plant but two under that light would be asking a lot. if you added a second sf1000 (one per plant) you will do VERY much nicer than that light you originally posted

Sounds good as I said I’m going for the one plant for now and see how I do before I pump more $ in haha

I order almost the exact same burple lights from Amazon for my GDP AF. Probably one of the biggest mistakes I made IMO. Plant Was growing slow AF! I swapped over to SF2000 and saw THE biggest difference. That SF1000 should be plenty for a couple of plants.

Run it get all the watts ya can get. Don’t forget to get a fan. A constant breeze results in a strounger sprout-> stronger plant-> able to hold more weight ye ye

This mornings update. Still have her under the dome when should that be removed ? Anyone know how she is looking ?

I don’t dome at all. @Hellraiser also doesn’t and he one of the veterans here

That having been said, a lot of growers here do use them

I guess my point is that you could remove it yesterday and be ok

I would water in a circle/spiral a way from stem to avoid damping off (root rot) and not much at all at this stage
