This is my first attempt using trellis netting to SCROG before flipping the light to 12 - 12. I mixed Gaia Green veg and bloom nutrients with some worm casting soil yesterday. I will probably give the plants time to grow for a day or two to recover from the netting. As you can see the plants were grown at different times so I’m hoping the plants height’s wont be an issue. First time using soil nutrients as well. I was using Fox Farm liquid nutrients before going into the flower phase and was having a lot of problems with them.
Looks great. The only thing I would do is raise all the smaller plants to be the same level as the tallest plant. You may have to put them up on bricks, creates or something.
Good luck and keep’em growin!
You have an awful lot of plant. It looks like you could have started growing it into the net a lot sooner (maybe a month??). Managing the different heights and size of the plants in a limited amount of space will be a challenge. You will have to figure out where to put all the branches when it starts to stretch.
One other thing, you were very aggressive in defoliating.
One plant in a 3x3 with an 8 colas manifold on the day flipped to 12/12
Seven days later
Clean under the first net
I am of the belief, the more leaves you leave the stronger she grows
She grew so much I had to supercrop her a second time on day 20
Like I said. You will need a plan. Let us know how it goes.
Appreciate all the advice. So you think after growing the plant for a month I should put the netting around them? How long do you think I should leave the plants in veg before switching to 12-12? Sorry for all the questions. Been trying to get a good grow going.
2 part question here. So if you you were using say a snow fence with holes that are approx 2"x2" there is a 1/2" inch between holes front to back and 1/4" left to right would you try to fill every hole? Every other? Skip 2?
These are just starting to pop through the screen which is pretty well filled, the pic is from a 2 days ago and ive already been able to fill another handful of spaces, the rest would fill probably within the week. Would you flip the lights now? Or let them grow verticle a bit?
There are 3 plants one of wich kinda is irrelevant to the grow because it never really grew, it stayed very compact so i ended up pulling it out of the 7 gallon bags just to save some space down below…
The two big plants are fuel dog and peyote gorilla, both i believe have pretty strong sativa genetics.
What he said
The plants need to be mature enough to flip. Another limitation is space. Although I rarely have a plant double in size after flipping, it is a safe rule of thumb for planning purposes. When it come to stretch, growers are usually concerned with vertical height limitations. However in the case of a true scrog, horizontal space is equally important.
