She got started in a 7 gallon fab pot with a peat heavy, soil mix. I transplanted her into an 11 gallon plastic pot with a 70% worm casting 30% coco coir mix. Ive been feeding rainbow mix grow with humic and molasses. Fish and seaweed as well.
Im still waiting for buds to start popping, but no rush.
5x3 tent 72" high. Sf2000 with a 6" ac infinity t6 exaust fan
Happy New year WB
Beautiful looking plant
Looking good man .
This caught my eye kinda an odd size 5x3, but thats the size of my cloest I started in, and I started with a spiderfarmer sf2000 in the cloest
It did great but I’ve since replaced it with a sp3000 and I put the sf2000 in a 1.5x2.5 tent.
But keeo doing whatever you’re doing because it’s working
Nice plant, looks healthy and happy with what your doing.
Love it
Thanks man, Happy new year to you. I see you got some nice plants going. Its freezing cold at my place, slow going in the winter weather.
I stole that recipe from watching home grow tv on utube. Those boys were doing some nice plants.
They do seed to harvest episodes.
I did a grow awhile back using all worm poo and perlite in a 1 gallon pot. Was an interesting grow. Finally had to fertilize her during. She grew faster than all the others at first but then slowed. Harvested her and had totally different smells and affect and recently came across the jar and she is by far the best day strain I think I’ve grown. Was white widow extreme.
Sure did hold the moisture using the poo.
The thought never crossed my mind to use that much worm castings in a grow mix till i saw it online. Always helps to see someone else do it first. I havent checked my run off yet. I probably should, even though i never do. I still cant tell when shes dry. I got feel the pot. I like this coco coir though. I normally use peat and perlite with soil and worm poo.
Go by weight for sure
I don’t water to run off although if some comes out into saucer it pretty much always sucks back up and I even saucer water as well as from top. I use organic amendments so don’t purposely flush them out and throw them away like chemical grows need to.
Worm poo really holds water and absorbs it well.
I don’t check ppm or ph unless an issue arises.
Run off isn’t necessary to check growing in living soil unless there’s an issue
Good luck with the grow
Good stuff to know, i appreciate the info. Im being cafeful with my feeding, no synthetic ferts to this point. I normally use kool- bloom and or jacks bloom booster during flower.
But, this time im sticking with the rainbow mix bloom and fish and seaweed with molasses.
Im like you, i wont check my runoff unless i see something going wrong.
You do want to be careful mixing your own soil. There are things in commercial mixes designed to maintain correct PH in the root zone. Adding dolomitic lime or oyster flour is a good idea for buffering PH into the correct zone. I would also be adding silica as it’s not present in any quantity in peat/worm castings.
Excellent points my friend!
Yep a ratio of around 3 to 4 parts lime to 1 part magnesium seems to be the sweet spot. Check the dolomite lime for % of each. Down to earth dolomite lime is about 2.5:1 so I’ll add oyster powder and or crab meal to it as well.
I calculated for 11 gallons (1.5 cu ft bag ffof) to add 168ml dolomite lime plus about 50ml of oyster crab meal combined to get close to optimal ratio for buffering. First time doing so with current mix hopefully will help hold PH as bottom of container tends to drift low in PH during grow.
Yep I add food grade diatomaceous earth and floor dry which is also just DTE with a particle size of small perlite for silica
Thanks for the info, every bit helps. I got earth juice rainbow mix through out my coco mix. So far everything i put that stuff on has done fantastic. Hope it continues. Im about to top dress with the bloom next week.
I use dolomite lime every year in my soil mix. I got an A in soil mixing school. Lol. Been doing it for years
I gave her a good prune, then top dress with some rainbow mix bloom.
@plumbdand i started a new site for this one. Probably do another when i go back outside.
My stems are looking a bit purple, i think i was a week late with my bloom top dress. Ill water again before i add anything else.
This ain’t like the great outdoors, where i can feed nearly every watering. These indoor ladies just dont feed as heavy. Im staying with the less is more concept.
I had my oral surgery today. All my teeth have already been pulled, bout 2 years ago from radiation, so they cut on the teeth line across the top of my gums. They go from the back to the front, so half of my lower jaw was cut open. They clean out rotten bone, like scrapping tartar from your teeth but your bone, they gotta get all the bad out. They continue until your bone bleeds. Now down to good bone they sew you back up. Really fxcking sore, will be worse in the coming days but its over. I still have two more weeks of hyperbaric oxygen therapy. No smoking weed is the bummer. I was due for a break anyway. They say no smoking for atleast 72 hrs, but ill wait a week or so. I dont need any more problems!!!
Get well soon W.B
