Ffof and phosphorus

I keep hearing that ffof has good nutrients, to the point where you may not need anything until flower. Well I have found that calmag is needed. What about phosphorus booster? I’m speaking vegetative phase only.

Yes they have plenty of nutrients to get you through at least the first month, just depends on how long you veg for. As for the phosphorus, I would think that you would only need it if the plant was telling you that she needed it, but that’s just my thoughts on it

I found calmag to be a must add in with the ff liquid trio
But other than that all seemed ok after I started to ad the cal mag
I have purchased the dirty dozen pack for this grow to see if it makes a difference

It does okay for me and I added nothing but water for about the first 5 or 6 weeks

Agree with @Hawkeye_diesel Most important is keep the pH in range and your plant will tell you if she needs something.

Exactly she’ll let you know what she needs an or wants

I have been using the flower power nutrients from Robert Bergman, and they cover right from the start through to the finish, I figure since I got the seeds from him he would definitely know the needs of the plant, and so far my durban poison is doing really well on it, and it’s not expensive

@Fever, when did you start this cal mag and what symptoms did the plant have to make you aware of this?..I’m a newbie and will start in near future by am gonna do soil grow w/ ffof, so really interested in exactly what nutes I’m gonna need…

This will help you find out what the different deficiencies look like.

FF is well known to be lacking cal mag, so it’s recommend to compensate by buying a separate bottle to add into the trio nutrients when using. Cal Mag is important for most nutrient feeding schedules. Specially if using RO (reverse osmosis) water.

@ktreez420, thanks for the heads up, so are you saying that u use ff trip plus the cal mag? I will be using well water, and was under the impression that when using ffof all I will need is nutes for bloom. Correct me if I’m wrong but you are not in agreement? When do you start to use trio and cal/mag?

@Zombo it depends make sure you transplant at the right time. My plants needed transplant and I didn’t realize and took it for nute deficiencies

@Fever, yeah, I’m gonna have to just figure it out as I go, I think once I get started, it will become clearer to me!.. Someone wrote the plants will tell you what thy need, experience will be my teacher

@Zombo I found I had to add cal mag to the ff liquid trio as well I mix it right in with the ff nutes I also found I had to ad a little extra mag by add a little epsom salt as well about 1/2 teaspoon per gallon
Just passing my experience with it along bro
I hav the ff dirty dozen for this grow and will see if using whole line makes a difference or not

@Countryboyjvd1971, Hey I appreciate you taking the time to pass along your experiences…I will most likely wait for the dirt month or 5 weeks to start thinking about some type of nute schedule, Not sure which company is the best to go with. May just use the ff trio with cal mag backup to have on hand

Yeah it can feel that way sometimes @Zombo but it’s a labor of love that rewards you for the hard work
Cool can’t wait to see pics of the set up and you got your seeds give me a WooHoo :raised_hands: :+1:
Exciting stuff
I’ve heard some people say ffof is to hot for seedlings but I’ve used it and seems to be fine just as ph water at 6.5 so far so good
