I have an AC Infinity in-line fan system watched to my tent. I have the fan set to 10 and my tent caves in when I close the vent. Am I harming my plants by turning the fan completely off during my 6 hour dark period?

I never turn mine all the way off. Usually around 4 on the lights off period.

in hydro fan stays on 24/7, in soil off during dark phase

The problem with turning fans off while lights are also off could be humidity. Temp drops rH goes up, may result in condensation. Have you ever noticed moisture between leaves that touch? All my fans; intake, exhaust and circulation run 24/7

Yup i could not imagine turning off during the dark period. 24/7 regardless of method of cultivation.

I leave my circulation fan going but my exhaust cuts out with the lights.

I leave mine on 24/7 mostly for humidity control during lights out.

@NewbieRick if you crack one of your lower vents a bit at a time to find the correct ratio you can maintain a negative air flow out of the tent AND stop the pooching of your tent walls. As long as your blowing out slightly more than the opening let’s in you’ll be good. I had the same issue and that solved it no extra support brackets needed lol.

you know after reading this entire thread i may have misunderstood …i keep my carbon filter and intake fans on 24/7 for VPD control …what i turn off is the oscilating fans inside my tent during lights out phases …just to be clearer

You’re not doing it wrong. Everybody’s environment is different. I don’t need to worry about odor control so I don’t need to run the exhaust when the lights are out. My main reason for the exhaust other than air exchange is to remove heat. Heat isn’t an issue with the lights off.

I run my Exhaust fan 24/7 Also open a pass through hole at the bottom of the tent. Will serve to pull fresh air in.
