Has the pot been sitting in the saucer when the saucer has water in it? Doing so encourages mold and algae growth. A peroxide spray will treat it if it is mold. Algae will die off if it is deprived of water. Be sure to let the soil dry out between waterings.

Yes I have… no more than 30 min tops tho sometimes I would forget. should I have it raised up out of the saucer I read having them sitting directly on the saucer is asking for mold how should I raise it

I also read that since I am using happy frog soil that it is microrizeah looking for nutrients?

No. It’s not mykos. I’m not sure who told you it might be beneficial. It’s not, but it doesn’t hurt much either unless you allow it to progress. Use a pot riser to keep the pot out of standing water. Something like this:

Can I use 70% Alcohol instead of Hydrogen Peroxide?

I do not have hydrogen peroxide. Will 70% Alcohol kill the algea without harming my plant ?

Thats pretty risky, the fabric could wick it up and roots will take up alcohol. Can start killing the plant. Maybe if itwet a rag and you just wiped the surface but that wouldnt do the best job either

Hydrogen peroxide seems to be the only fix?

Peroxide is a far better choice. It doesn’t take much.

Or do nothing but let it dry. Algae and nutrient staining will all discolor the grow bag. It’s like trying to keep fingerprints off the fridge handle. Maybe for the open house photo, otherwise it’s got hands and jam on it.

Alcohol is poison and will kill roots. Unless it’s diluted enough to not kill the algae anyway.

Hydrogen peroxide kills the algae with an extra oxygen. By oxidation. Similar to ozone. The only byproduct is water. Cheap and mellow on the roots. You should pick a bottle up for your grow. It’s like cooking a four course meal without butter in the fridge. Just don’t forget to wipe the fridge handle off too.

All joking aside, good luck and happy growing. I would not sweat that at all. That bag still looks new. You should see some of my older ones.

Do you recommend spraying the plant with (diluted) vinegar/water to stop thoes little bastards from flying around my plant
