Exhaust fan run times

So I have a question about exhausting my tent. Is it more for fresh air or temp/rh control? I’m just not sure how long and how often it should be running. I have a 6in carbon filter in a 5x5 tent. Its on a short cycle repeating timer set to run for 5 min every 10 min. I see that a lot of folks on here use a temp controller for their fan. Any help is greatly appreciated. I went back pretty far back in the forum looking for an answer, before posting this, and couldn’t find one. Thanks grow gang!

I run mine 24/7, just different levels depending on the stage of growth. It works for heat removal, humidity removal, odor removal and air exchange. Running 5 min on and 10 min off is really going to burn that fan out quicker. All those stop/start cycles aren’t good. Would be better to run an hour on, hour off if you don’t want to just keep it on.

Now, what about the infinity fans and controllers? Are those designed to handle and operate with constant start/stop cycles? They sure look nice! Hahahaha!

I have the Infinity T6, and it hasn’t stopped running since I installed it.

They don’t really start/stop. They increase and reduce fan speed to try and keep where you have it set.

Ahhhhhh🤔 Worth it?

Depends. My ac infinities are always running. So the controller is really just a fancy hygrometer. They do have the S series that has a basic fan speed controller. They’re $40 cheaper and allows you to adjust fan speed but it’s manual and not electronically controlled. But that’s all I need.

Pulled all the girls out tonight, cleaned the floor, changed some fan placement, took the timer off of the exhaust. I always felt like it should be on 24/7 but wasn’t sure. Thanks again Ruler Zig-Zag-Zig Allah! Hahaha! Love me some Wu!

Ah, you know the divine alphabet!

Only from listening to rza and running across it here and there(fed prison). Haven’t even thought of that since the 90s!

Run Exhaust Fan 24/7 maintains negative pressure in tent controls odor. Pulling hot stale air out through carbon filter an exhausting outside. :+1::v:

I run mine 24/7 too. I run an AC Infinity 8" in a 5x5. I don’t have the T model. Only constant speed fans. I’ll run it half speed when the plants are large and back down to 1/4 speed when the plant is smaller. Temps and humidity are well-controlled doing this.
