Anyone out there using this light? It’s a high dollar LED but is it worth the money xtra price?
I have the ES300, and it works incredibly well. I also have a Grow 300 by Grow Light Science. The ES has some advantages, but the Grow is a much better value because the price is much better. They also make a smaller model like the ES180, it’s called the Grow 220.
@DivChem just purchased one. How do you feel about the purchase so far bud?
Does your ES300 coverage seem to be close as advertised? I just purchased a 5’x2.5’ tent for a 3 bucket RDWC project I’m building. This light’s description says it’s perfect for that size tent but manufacturers specs aren’t always accurate.
It seems to be working great. It will cover about 2.5x 4 flower easy. I just put the other one up this morning. Have it adjusted @ 30" now. The good thing is they are adjustable/dimmable. Illl get a pic out in a few.
@bj262003, glad you asked, lol. I have a 2 1/2 x 5 tent as well, and I ended up taking the ES300 out of it and putting it in my 2 x 4 instead. It gives great coverage in there, but with the extra foot of space in the 2 1/2 x 5, the ends of the tent had weaker coverage than I liked. The Grow 300 by Grow Light Science is 4’ long as the ES300 is only 3’. I find the Grow 300 gives really good even coverage throughout the entire 2 1/2 x 5 tent, and it’s $300 less then the ES300. The only area where the ES300 is superior in my opinion is it dissipates heat a little better, but that’s not to say the Grow 300 puts out an unreasonable amount of heat. My 4" AC Infinity fans cools the tent with no issues, but the heatsink housing of the ES works really well. The Grow 300 is more of a standard style shop light housing. Let me know if you have any other questions. The owners of both The Green Sunshine Company(Dan) and Grow Light Science(Kevin)are awesome dudes who will respond personally to your emails and questions, and both of their lights work incredibly well for me. I definitely think you can’t go wrong either way, but I would suggest the Grow 300 for your tent.
Here’s the Grow 300 in my 2 1/2 x 5
And another shot. Its already a bit cooler in the room, took the 2 Par600s out. The Durban and CBD seem to like the new spectrum…
Another nice feature on the ES is the dimmer control is on a flying lead, so you can easily locate it outside the tent. I took the knob off mine, mounted it in a single gang box on a blank plate with a 3/8" hole to make it neat. The Grow 300 dimmer knob is mounted on the fixture, so you have to go in the tent to adjust it.
Grown under 300v2. The dimming switch is very nice. You can have light as low as 6/10" with it turned down to 50%. Saves a Sh!tload of headspace! ! I’m sold. Room has dropped 7° and its flippn Hot humid and nasty down here.
They brought this LSD back from death. And the Maui Wowie… Speaks for itself…Results speak! I’m in the South East and I’m already fighting the humidity in my tent as well.
Thanks for all the info. I’m definitely going to research the Grow 300. I never heard of it before your reply but the extra foot of coverage is nice to have because I’ll hopefully have 3 bushes filling out the complete tent.
I personally cant run a enclosed tent. Its just to hot. So I use a spare bedroom and a half box in order to keep my temps down to 85° Just watch your humidity.
@bj262003, I was very skeptical of the Grow 300 when I saw an ad about it. I checked out their website and the specs actually beat the ES300. I had been considering adding an ES 180 to my 2 1/2 x 5 because like I said, the 300 is awesome, but didn’t quite cover end to end. I didn’t see how it was possible for the price of the Grow 300 to be so low with those specs, so I emailed them with some questions. I got quick and informative replies from Kevin, so I decided to give one a try. Again, there is no question the ES is built far more solid. The housing on the thing is near bulletproof, but do we really need that for what we do, and for an extra $300? I don’t think so, especially with the extra length on the Grow 300. Bottom line is I don’t think you can go wrong either way.
mann i just bought grow 300 been 2 weeks still hasnt shipped noone will respond to emails anyone have any leads to contact this kevin guy
