I need help/reassurance on my grow using earth dust fertilizer. After 2 prior grow attempts where the buds were very loose and no thc high, I can’t afford another failure.
My ? Is do I need a nutrient tea booster for my girls? I followed all directions so far and 2 plants seem to not be getting any bigger now (one in the front of pic and one back-right).
These are ILGM Purlple Haze photo seeds. 25 weeks into flowering.
That cannot be right. 25 weeks overall maybe and 3-4 weeks into flower?
Yeah, 25 weeks into flower isn’t right, but regardless, I use biothrive bloom for my organic grows, and have had good luck.
I use Earth Dust and have never had any issues what do you mean by aren’t getting bigger do you mean as in vertical growth or like the buds aren’t getting bigger?
@MeEasy and a few others use ED. From what I have learned here, there is a Base and a Boost. The base is amended in during the Veg stage and the Boost is used twice during the flowering stage mixed in as a top dress and watered in. Is this how you have done it or plan to do it? Then all you do is water unless you see a problem.
If you need more nute in flower top dress with BOOST. Maybe 2tblspn a gallon of soil scratched in. Less if not super hungry. Do not expect results fast. If want instant use of nutes soak 1 tblspn boost in water per gallon of soil maybe 2 if badly needed… Let sit overnight. Apply. For a microbe boost mix 2-3 tblspn base or boost in a gallon of water. ONLY 2-3tblsp. Shake well. Use IMMEDIATLEY!!! The microbes will die fast once wet with no soil to bind to. Earth dust has some very nice videos to teach use of the product. I have amazing success with it. My choice is the top dress. After a good look at picture i think you are just fine where you are.
Just a suggestion. If photo letem stretch more before flip. If an auto have that net lower.
Sorry I meant 25 days🙃
Not getting bigger/fatter. 25 days not weeks but yeah probably just alittle paranoid
BAM, nailed it. Plants look great, don’t be paranoid. You got this. They won’t get big and phat until the last few weeks. First 4 weeks of flower is the stretch (all vertical) then weeks 5-6 to harvest she puts on weight and fills in the stretch.
Ok thanks! I did the pre flower and 30 days after that Boost. I just heard if they “need” more apply nutrient tea but not sure how to tell what it “needs”. I’ll let it ride out and keep my fingers crossed for now!
I can’t wait to get one good grow behind me! Thanks again!!
It looks PERFECT. Good painting on the tips. Great color. Very vibrant. Ridem.
This is normal majority of the swelling dosnt happened till the last 2 to 3 weeks of flower they will plump up just make sure to continue to follow earth dust nutes you can give compost teas as well if youd like i do a tea once a week
I question whether it’s a nutrient thing or a Lights thing.
As others said, you’re looking on point for where you’re at. But it’s worth considering that your plant makes energy via photosynthesis. Subpar light output will always net a subpar crop. Not saying you won’t always get something you can smoke, just saying that may have an impact on overall terp and trichome production.
My brain went here too.
What are you using for lighting?
I have a Marshydro 2000 plus I added a mars 1000 halfway thru veg stage 13-16 inches above highest bud as instructed by Mars, more is better right?. I recently added extra reflective panels to get the lower branches(I got them from those complete meals delivered by mail)
How big is your tent?
It’s a 4x4, the 2000 light specs are 4x4 for veg and 3x3 flowering. Though I called the company and they said it’s fine for 4x4 flower. So I added the 1000 unit just in case!
Unfortunately what they say they do, and what they do aren’t always on par.
That’s about 28 watts for square foot. With lower quality lights you’ll need closer to 40-50.
Couldn’t agree more. I think we pegged the issue. The reflective stuff will help make the most meaningful use of the light available, but for a 4x4 I’d be running 4 of the TS1000 lights to get the exposure/light coverage needed. I only say this because I know the TS1000 is 150 actual watts, which would get you to around 37.5 watts per square foot. That said, and no disrespect intended at all, I do not trust Mars Hydro at all.
Are you open to revamping your lighting? I don’t want to make unsolicited light recommendations but at this stage with the history of your grows, it’s the first place I’d start to improve yield, quality, and potency.
