I think it’s time for a thread about cancer, serious health issues and possible remedies for the affliction or the side effects.
I was just diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and cared for my Dad when he was taken by the same almost 30 years ago.
Mom went years earlier to breast cancer, eventually lymphoma.
Anyone who knows me here understands that I enjoy poking fun and occasionally using “dark humor”.
This, I hope, will be a place to connect.
A spot to laugh or cry, but to always move forward.

Im so sorry for your diagnosis unfortunately I lost my Grandmother to the very same a few years ago. 
My family unfortunately has a prevalence for cancer as well so it is a big fear of mine. Im praying for you, your family and your healthcare provider as you battle this terrible disease

Cancer feckn sucks. As a survivor of it(2015 toncil cancer stage 4).,I will talk share pray with anyone e we ho wants to.
My journey started with a small lump on my neck.Surgery then lab work on mass confirmation,cancer. Another surgery,bu lateral neck dissection.They removed 57 lymph node’s from my neck ,28 were cancer.
Next phase - chemo/radiation for 7 weeks
First 4 weeks were easygoing then weeks 5-6-7 were the hardest thing I’ve ever done.
Starting weight 229, finish weight 160,12 years later 128.
Side effects,took my hearing,salivary glands are not what they once were( constant dry mouth)AND I can’t taste sugar.neuropathy diagnosed 2021 head to toe. Very minor symptoms then 2023 it showed up.,in my arms. From elbows to finger tips constant burning/tingling and numbness.24/7.
What does kill you makes you stronger,well I call BS. I just got used to all my issues.

My Journey started last Sept peein blood ER, then to Urologist after all test a 11 cm RCC tumor in my right kidney and in my Vena Cava vein next to kidney,Oct during my B-Day gathering cook out had a small stroke back in the hospital tests and therapies, home again home again, Nov 15 th check into U of M hospital cancer ward to get me ready for Radical open Kidney removal and Vena Cava rebuild after tumor removed 8 hr surgery went home 7 days later to start recouping, and ya’ll best reliazie if you wife or partner has has a C-section they need the up most praise abdomanal surgey sucks wads, fast forward 3 month check ups start and 3 in Oncolgist informs me they found 2 spots and one is in a lymph node, so given 3 options I agreeded to see if Immunotherapy will help 3 rd treatment/infusion coming next wednesday and @SausageMahoney you scared me when you said your Mom was getting Kytruda, I am also but the Qlex version along with 2- 5 mg pills a day of Inlyta, so journey still continues will stick this out for a bit and if it does not help to stop or shrink the cancer back under the knife I go again, Please please ya’ll take vigalince in your health and loved ones also, are Doctors the answer to all hell no, are the fix and cure hell no, but they or most will be there to help when ya really need one, peace and prayers to all that are battling health issues God is good…
And closing it has become my moto F**k Cancer

@Mateo that seems to be what I am seeing and starting to feel welcome to different me, new into this mess but have talked to many at the infusion center and I do not feel my situation is that bad life changing yes.

This was in 21’. I kinda thoughtlessly said it. We dont know that that’s what caused her sudden deterioration. That’s what she thought though and she was an LVN for for 25 years. She said it made her insides feel greasy and her other organs begin to shut down. I dont have much faith in the current medical system these days either. Sometimes you have no choice though. Such is life… anyhow how in the sprit of celebration and humor.

I feel lucky no side effects to speak of yet but was.told it can be after I am.done with the meds only time will tell eh

It was just the scene in reverse that I saw play out in my head. From the first news until you had time to process it was quick turnaround. Good job

So when I started this thread, I was pretty well lit.
I was actually afraid to look at it this morning… didn’t know if it would be well received, but mainly afraid it would be.
I don’t log on to cry (my allergies really kick in just now), but we’re all fighting a common enemy.
Full disclosure, I’m NOT a prayer warrior.
I’m an old guy with a pretty beat up body, and when aggravated not the most pleasant person to be around.
This might be a good spot to comment on recipes, good strains for management, or if you just have a great cancer joke.
