So I planted three AK auto seeds 7 weeks ago. They were transplanted into Happy Frog soil exactly one month ago. Things were going along fine until a few weeks ago when one of my plants started getting dark spots on the leaves, which would then shrivel up to the point they would need to be removed. The plant kept stretching up to the light and budding but now almost very leaf is gone and I still have at least a couple of weeks to go (I’m guessing). The worst part is that now my other two plants are showing the same issue. I thought it was a nutrient defiency since it started on the bottom leaves. So I started with adding 10mL of Florobloom, 60 mL of Fox Farm Big Bloom, 5ml of Cal Mag and 5ml of Silca per gallon of distilled water every other watering. I am careful to adjust the pH every time After adding nutes. I water to enough runoff to get ppm (usually around 950). I know Happy Frog is a hot soil but shouldn’t it have more than a couple of weeks of nutes? I’ve even tried a little molasses once to help. After two weeks this doesn’t seem to helping. The first photo is of my most affected plant - the second of my other same aged plants starting to do the same. Thoughts?
The only difference on the other plants is that the discoloration is on the ends of the leaves - maybe Nute burn?
Id say nute burn and or pH issues. Whats the pH of your run off??

Happy frog isn’t hot FFOF is hot I use happy frog for all my seedlings never burned one yet, looks like lockout salt or ph issues due to heavy feedings?
Just saw that you watch PH like a hawk have you done any flushes on a schedule?

I’ll check at next watering. Good idea!
No - I usually water until I get some runoff but I don’t know if that would actually count as a flush, right?
It doesn’t a full flush is basically a reset back to 0-50 ppm let it dry out then give them a full dose back it’s pretty important if you re running ff trio

agree with above. lockout due to high salt build up. when I use to use FF trio I would flush at the start of flower and then every two weeks or I would have similar problems. flush with clean phed water at 3 times your pot size.
I have switched to all organic and top dressing because I got tired of flushing all the time. if you use synthetic nutrients you have to flush. and run off does not count as a flush.

I agree I’m about to do a half dyna grow half organic grow just because of how nice, easy, and reliable the full organic growing was during 1st grow

I use Dr. earths home grown and flower girl to top dress and organicly feed my girls. I add a few other things to it as well, like epson salts, molasses, earth worm castings and organic calmag. I havent had to flushed a plant yet growing organicly, And my buds smell and taste better I think too.

I use down to earth 444 and 484 along with bloodmeal epsom salt and molasses I’m trying to create a fool proof schedule for my mom who i don’t trust to use meters my schedule is medium building i was using a peat moss blend but I’m switching to coco50%compost 20% perlite 30 % 2 tablespoons each 444 and bloodmeal week 3 6 Tbsp 444 3Tbsp each bloodmeal and 484 week 5 depends if my auto is showing leaf site pistils so 3Tbsp 444 and 1.5 Tbsp bloodmeal or just 3 Tbsp 484 week 1 flower 6 Tbsp 484 flower week 3 3 Tbsp 484 . 1/4 tbsp molasses 1/2 Tbsp epsom every watering starting week 3 double for flowering

Thank you all for the flush advice. I made an emergency trip to the store and purchased 30 gallons of distilled water (I don’t trust our city water with chlorine unless it’s sitting out for days). I flushed all three plants and got ppm from 900 (dark brown color) to 100ish (almost clear). I know I should have flushed more but it’s getting late and I didn’t want to go back to town to look for more water. I noticed my plants were all really dry and brittle handling them from my tent to the garage. I don’t know if they will come back or not but it won’t be for lack of trying.
