DWC setups questions

So when the plant is young the roots don’t touch the water and this is a good way to keep the plant going until the roots actually hit the water then you can turn it off.

Do you have good airflow? Probably run into heat issues for sure. Cold packs work great m.

Use those too and they are great. Keeps me from having to constantly check it.

Im looking at the 14 gal tote linked above. How many cold packs and how often did you need to change them

Often! Every hour if not more.

This is not a good option if you leave the house for an 8-5 everyday

Pumps here tomorrow. I am going to try the fridge and see what happens in a 5 gal bucket of water.

If I run a chiller for the bucket like your 2 bucket system, will the tent temps still be a problem if water temps are correct at root zone?

What is your highest room temp? A chiller is a big expense

At 88 degrees yes it will

Well I keep hoping but I see no way to run a system in the summer. In the winter months I should be ok so maybe I can run 2 flowers during winter months and stick with soil for now.

I avoid the summer months.

Fyi a soil plant will not grow well in 88°+ either

Unless is outdoor like @Cyle1 said

My BD-CD-BBK Kind soil grow and the BGL-LSD grow are doing fine at 88° so far. My room AC unit show up at Best Buy today so I can go get it tomorrow on way home from work and get the window vents all in this weekend and see what I can get for lower temps in the tent…

Are they in flower or veg.

Those temps make plants prone to hermaphroditing

Well you should be fine to do DWC then
