Sprout was a couple days ago and currently I’m running 4 dutch passion strawberry cough seeds in root riot already placed in solo cups full of happy frogs. I like the root riot just because I can definitely tell when its dried up and I put a slit into it that gives the roots plenty of air even if they may see a bit of light. I will cover the root riot with a scoop of happy frogs once I’m confident the roots are starting to infiltrate the happy frogs nice and good.
I’m running a 100 watt hlg bspec LED and temps are a little on the cool side now so I’ve added a seedling mat beneath them set to 80 degrees which keeps soil temp up to about 75. I germinated 4 seeds and got 4 seedlings although I expect 1 might get culled due to some bad growth caused by tears in the cotyledons from me removing a stuck seed casing. Feeding currently is plain DI water and I will continue that regimen for about 3 weeks.
Thanks man. I’ve heard great things about dutch passion as well, especially their seed strain of strawberry cough as compared to the Kyle kushman clone only strain, which I have no way to get . My last strain is a great sleep aid even if I was a bit disappointed with the taste but now I’m going for that long flower sativa high with hopefully some nice strawberry notes.
Aww, look at the cute little babies! Strawberry cough also high on my list to grow. Did you spray the seed casing before you tried to remove it? Hitting it with a fine mist then letting sit for a few minutes can help it come off nice and easy. I’ll be following along good luck!
No I didn’t. I’ll definitely have to try that though because it seems to happen alot for me. The root riot probably doesn’t provide enough resistance to catch and hold the seed casing. My wife told me I could only run 2 this time anyway so I was alooot less cautious after starting 4 seeds lol.
Welp they all survived. One has some wierd lop sided growth and the one with the torn cotyledons is starting to take off it’s just a little behind the others. I would really hate to kill a viable plant but I really don’t know if I wanna take 4 multi sized plants all the way to harvest again.
Definitely not pretty but I think I finally got temp and humidity about right. She’ll have to deal with 70 degrees F until I hang one of the higher wattage lights that pumps out a bit more heat.
Whatever works to make them happy. All the work will pay off at the end. Anyone who says stoners are lazy has never grown before. Looking happy and healthy
