@MrPeat can you explain how you use your fox farm nutes? This is how I have been doing it so tell me if I’m wrong in doing it. In veg I was adding 30ml of big bloom, 15ml of grow big, 5ml of Cali-Magic and .25ml of wholly mackerel in one gallon of filtered water then watering the soil with it. Is that the correct way or do you add the individually?
Yeah, but you have to account for that 200 in your total. This is another reason folks do R/O because they can push exactly what they want. I would back off the TDS to a total of 1,200 max and 1,100 would be better.
Also: in media an excess can look like a deficiency. And vice versa.
I run ff dirty dozen and I follow the same feeding chart. I feed sunday and thursdays. And water all other days. I test my run off every day. If im between 1100 to 1400 i add just ph water. If I’m lower than 1100 i feed and extra feeding. If my ppm gets up around 2000 plus I flush and that tends to be every 3 weeks. Are you checking the PH of your run off. U maybe putting in 6.0 but ur run off maybe 5.2 or lower I had that happen last week. Tiger bloom makes ph low and as it builds in ur medium u may need to raise ur PH going in. I watered the next day at 6.5 and the day after at 7.2 before my run off read 5.8. I do not ever go with just a standard in, i always base what my ph should be in ,off the day befores run off. I hope this helps.
@OU812 Let me wake up and I will explain exactly how I use the FF Nutrients.
@OU812 Ok this is how I run my FF Nutrients. I’ll start off this which set I use first off.
So down to the liquids. When I plant my seeds to soil I will wait 2 weeks before giving any nutrients. I first start off with Grow Big and Big Bloom.
Big Bloom can be used from beginning to end. You end up using a lot of this over multiple grows.
Once the first flowers start showing up, I stop using Grow Big. I don’t flush the soil when I switch to Tiger Bloom. As I haven’t had any problems but I’m thinking of doing a couple days just straight filtered off the tap water.
Use Tiger Bloom and Big Bloom to the end. I usually stop with the nutrients near the end so I can start flushing the nutrients in favor of a smoother smoke.
Now the crystal powder FF Nutrients is worded differently. FF uses the terms Beginning, Middle and Final.
Beginning to Middle I use Open Sesame. You need to know when you first see buds because of how they describe when to use.
Once I meet the Middle week of flowering I change to the one called Beastie Bloomz. This gets run from Middle to Final weeks of flowering. Again, keep track of when the flowers first form as this will dictate approximately when to use these powders.
Now to the final powder, Cha Ching. This gets run from final weeks of flowering to harvest.
I split the amount of nutrients they are supposed to get each week into generally 3 feedings per week.
I’m using all this information directly from the labels as I don’t have a FF Nutrient Schedule. So far it’s worked great for me. You may not have the same experience as I do. I’ve been growing things since I was a wee lad and have been growing something each year for the last 35 years of my life so I’m a very confident grower.
Sorry for the novel I wrote but this is how I use the FF Nutrients. I don’t do pH or anything else. Like I said I’ve had no problems with what I do. Now when I joined was because my GSC hit 60” tall and it’s not supposed to grow that big according to the information about that strain.
@MrPeat thanks for the explanation one question so I water a full gallon usually then it takes probably 3-5 days to dry out then I water does this sound about right? @Axemanjake23 I don’t usually water to runoff which may be an issue because it takes over 5 days to dry out, I use the drought to flood method and usually use a gallon to a gallon and a half per plant and get no runoff. I think what my next step is going to be is water with ph6.0 water tonight until I get runoff, then I can measure ph and ppm and see what I’m getting. If I see low ppm do I then go in with a gallon of feed or let it dry out then water in a few days? I’m new to this still it’s only my second grow and so if my plan isn’t a good one please advise
Water to run off, check your levels and adjust. Then make sure to let her dry out before water again
@OU812 I only water by big girl about a 1/2 gallon a day and split the feeding up between 3 times a week. I do skip watering days depending on the weather outside. Because if it’s hot out side, the room will be on the warmer side and will need more water.
I adjust according to how my girls tell me what is needed. Trial and error till you dial in your system. I’ve dialed in to what I prefer my system to be.
Now after these plants are done I’m going to change a few things so I can learn different ways to grow.
@Axemanjake23 so if I water to runoff and have an extremely low PPM count do I feed with nutrients to bring this up more? If I water to runoff and see 1200ppm do I just let it go with just a watering?
If its low ,feed to bring up yes. And if its 1200 ish or higher let it ride. But make sure to check PH of run off too. U do not have to have alot of run off to test
88F and 32% RH isn’t where you need to be as the RH is way too low.
If there isn’t any room for the humidifier in the tent and you have it outside at the lower vent can you place a small fan on the floor in the tent in front of that vent to help draw moisture into the tent.
Based on your posted pic the readings At 88F the VPD chart has a “green” safe range of 68-72% so best to either get the temps down with your inline fan cranked up and or raise humidity.
Night temps you say are mid to upper 60’s the RH range should be in the 48-38% range
If your normal temps are really 82F lights on than 68-58% would be proper. As you get closer to to harvest that’s where you’ll want to be concerned with high humidity especially when lights off and would lower those above numbers. As it is now you are way outside the recommended RH for those temps and that will also cause issues with the plant.
My 2 cents anyway
@Skydiver @Myfriendis410 @MrPeat @HornHead @Axemanjake23 @Hogmaster
So I watered last night with three gallons of 6.0 ph water the first runoff was 5.56ph and 1400ppm, the second later runoff was 5.6 ph and 2000ppm so I watered with one more gallon of ph 6.5 water and my runoff numbers were ph 5.98 and 800ppm so I left it to dry for a few days and will feed when it dries out. Unfortunately I’m totally aware of of my VPD being way off but I cannot seem to get either the temps down nor the humidity up. I have the humidifier at the bottom vent with a 8-10” fan blowing in the vent on high. I have a 4” vivosun exhaust fan and filter on high exhausting the tent. I’m probably going to have to go with a 6” and good filter next grow but it’s not in the budget so close to Christmas. I’m just going to have deal with the reduction in this crop and next grow I’m going to just LST and scrog 1 plant and fill my tent instead of 2. So I can have the humidifier in the tent to get the conditions perfect. Please feel free to offer any further advice if you see something I messed up.
The plants look pretty good. I don’t do pH so I can’t help you there. I try to keep things as simple as possible.
My AC on this side of the house is terrible and the house really doesn’t have any insulation as it was built Shaft Construction aka not good.
So I bought a window ac unit and it sits on a bucket where it’s facing into my grow tent. Heat issue taken care of.
Are you in soil, hydroponics, coco?
@HornHead Pro-Mix HP
Hey at this stage of flowers I would keep the humidity low very low!! You don’t want bud rot. Never spray water either in the flower stage. Temperature is relative heat keeps it dry, I think if you want more color go lower in temperatures.
I think @Myfriendis410 said promix should be at 6.2?
Sounds good and all good advice in here…
Yeah, or 6.0. It’s kind of in between coco and soil in my experience.
