Durban poison Autoflower…. 1st grow

Hi all,
This is my first grow and I feel I made a few mistakes. First off I got a grow tent kit from bud growers and that is awesome. I mixed their supersoil concentrate with some flower pot mix( which I now know to use foxfarm soil or coco) I germinated my Durban the first week of June. I just watered the first and second week then started adding sensi bloom nutrients the third week. She marched upwards the the fourth week but stopped around the 12” mark. I think she is flowering now . My ph average was 6.8-7.0,
Temperature was from 70-73 and humidity was 55-65% averages. I do keep my tent in the basement closet raised off the floor about a foot. Been thinking about adding a heat rock for reptiles to the inside of the tent to raise heat.
Any suggestions would be wonderful. I have a second one coming that I started the first week of July and I would like that one to turn out better. PS I have been using a 600 watt led light 24”-28” above canopy.

Need more light Grow Bro, the long node spacing reflects inadequate lighting intensity. Do you have a meter or the PHOTONE phone app? The intensity should be around 700-800 PPFD or a DLI of 40-45 :love_you_gesture:

Hey thanks for the quick response, I do have another 600 watt led I can add. I’ll get the app for my phone and test them.
Can you answer if it is flowering ? Any other tips?
Thanks again:)

And it looks like you are flowering.

I second the need for more lighting and I wouldn’t be feeding just yet, a plant that size will have plenty of food left in the medium!

More lighting and as the plant get larger the need for feeding may come.

Yes, just started the flower cycle :love_you_gesture:

Wow! Thank you all for the quick responses!!!
Glad I joined this forum.

I have a few more questions if you all have time…

My leaves started curling up and I thought that is a sign of too much heat from the lights, is that incorrect and it is something else?

I also have some yellowing at the tips on the bottom is that a nutrient deficiency or burn?

My led lights have a veggie and bloom switch, can/should I switch to bloom?
Also if I have my other seedling in the same tent would it hurt that one if I switched to bloom on the lights?

Again thank you all.

Target nutrients at 900-1000 PPMs and a PH of 6.5. She’s old enough for run off so next time she’s ready I would recommend straight water at a PH of 6.5 to approximately 20% run off and catch a sample and test the PPMs and PH. Below 1000 PPMs I would feed the next go round and adjust the PH up or down depending on what the run off PH was. Soil likes a drench to drought routine and that could be 3-5 days in between depending on the size of pot :love_you_gesture:

It definitely looks like heat stress, but could be many other things also.

Post some pics of your concerns Grow Bro and yes run the light with both switches on :love_you_gesture:

I got the app last night and my light range read around 600 but my screen guard has a crack in it but my cheap normal meter with ph/water/light reads around 200-300 at 30” and jumped to 1000 at about 12” from lights. I left one on bloom and one on veggie( I’ll switch to both when I get home tonight. I do an 18-6 light schedule.)
Think I need a better light system( live and learn)
I won’t water them until Saturday this week then I’ll test and maybe feed them next week. I’ll post more pictures when I get home tonight.
Thanks again:)!!!

That thing will cause problems. You might as well be using a magic 8-ball.

Many many growers here have drawers full of “bargain” lights. Good lights are a must and will easily pay for themselves with quality and quantity of harvest. I did Ok with a Mars Hydro T-1000. It is 150 watts and runs about $150.00 or less on Amazon. It will flower a single plant (2x2 area) fairly well for beginner set up. I actually used it in a 32x32 with 3 auto plants in different growth stages. I averaged 2 Oz per plant and kept a continuous cycle going with harvests every 6 weeks or so. Buds were not quite a dense and pretty as dispensary weed but suited me fine.

Hey all,
So I got home today and switched both lights to veggie and bloom.
Here is a shot of my 24”x48”x60” tent. On the left is my Durban. On the right in the cloth pot is my seedling Durban started 7-1. The other 2 in the plastic pots I just put in tonight and they are afghan feminized ( not autos).

Here is shots of my flowering Durban with the yellowing tips and leaf curling

This little one started 7-1, any tips to help make her better then her sister are much appreciated

I’d also like to emphasize that you will get far better results with proper lighting. If budget allows you will want a light built with Samsung LM301 diodes. HLG, Mars Hydro, and Spider Farmer all make decent lights. The Mars and Spider lights are more budget friendly but slightly older technology. They do still perform well. Avoid any lights that have a purple color, have integrated fans, or veg/bloom switches. The sellers of these type lights lie about their lights’ capabilities and they also manipulate the Amazon review system.

It means that the soil has been too consistently wet. Water and then let the soil dry out before watering again.

The soil is rich with microbial life…that’s a good thing :love_you_gesture:

Good day all,

So with both my lights running my heat has risen to about 81-82 degrees, humidity stays around 50-60during the day.
Is this okay?
Anything I can do to lower the temp , I have exhaust system and a fan running too.

Also I have not watered since Wednesday but the soil seems moist yet.my big/small durban that is.

Again thanks all.

82 isn’t bad at all :love_you_gesture:

Hi again, shout out to incognito for all the help so far, and to everyone else.
It has been 6 days since I posted here and your guys help has been tremendous. My girl has grown another 4 inches and seems to be budding nicely. I have not watered her since I spoke with you all ( I know I said I was going to but the pot still seems moist) going to hold off until Thursday or Friday to water.

I have a few more questions…

A)Curious if I am diagnosing this correctly in the picture below the leaves on the bottom are getting yellow tips and have a claw like look to the downwards curl… is this because of to much water and nutrients?

B)what is to hot of an environment? I seen it hit 83.7 in the tent 50% humidity since I added more lights

Thanks again
