Drying in a spare room

That’s a ton of dust…

Ah, alright… Is it not blowing a lot of air at all? (hot, warm, or otherwise)

Not sure how much air is supposed to come out

Well, if you’re only pulling a quart of water a day and you have low air flow, there’s pretty much has to be a blockage somewhere. I’m not great at judging matchstick performance, but I’m pretty sure your lack of RH control lies in that dehumidifier somewhere…

Keep in mind that pretty much any variety of those mini hygrometers you can get on Amazon for a few bucks a piece are not even close to accurate. I had many dozens of them over the years, and they caused me a lot of unnecessary grief. Not only did they give me false readings in my grow spaces and drying room, but they made me ruin several jars of awesome buds with their false readings. Eventually, I threw them all in the shit can where they belong.

Don’t believe these things, not only are they inaccurate from day 1, but they get worse and more inconsistent over time. Aside from monitoring these ones on my kitchen table for several days, I also took notes and marked jars of curing buds. Then I switched them around between the jars, waited 12 hours and compared the notes to the markings on the jars. Readings were all over the place.

I used to keep one in each jar of buds I was curing, but their false readings would make me take corrective actions for issues that didn’t exist. When they would read high, I’d burp for too long trying to lower it, and my weed got too dry. When they read low, I’d put a piece of orange peel or a few fan leaves in the jar to try and raise it, and made my buds too moist. Once I realized how useless they were, I got a cheap moisture meter. Now I know I’m jarring my buds at the proper moisture level, and everything goes much smoother.

Will they at least get me in the near ballpark for now this year?

I guess it’s in time to invest in something better thank you for the heads up.

Can you show me a photo of your moisture meter please?

I bought a dozen of those little round ones like you have. I laid them all out when I first got them, and tossed 3 that were way off. The rest weren’t bad. Not sure I’d trust them with a cure like @Cap_Ron says, but I use them around the house for various reasons and they’re not awful. Of course you should always double check your meters anytime you have troubles resolving issues of any kind, that’s just good ol’ wise advice

This one is several years old, so they might be on a different model currently, but I’m sure you can find one close enough. I got it at Home Depot. I use a small piece of the abrasive green scotch pads to keep the pins clean. They get gummed up with trichomes from pushing them into buds.
I use it on the building materials setting, and I trim and jar once they come down to between 11 and 13% moisture in the buds.

50 One Ounce bags purchased when on sale.
Cheaper than Qt Glass Mason Jars.
Glass Jars break (I dropped one into another, killed two).
All product being held, stable RH, 3 months, satisfied so far.
Big dreams and spares for sure.

I used Grove Bags for a few harvests, and they worked fine. I ended up going back to my jars, but only because I’m a creature of habit, not because of anything with the Grove Bags.
Believe it or not, I actually enjoy burping my jars, lol.

I started off using ball jars on my first grow…I liked them…but after having to burp 32 jars a day and the space to keep them…knowing Ill have next season…Hmm I figured Id try Groves…I had never heard of them until then…I still have my Mason jars and use them for storage when the buds are already cured…So either way you can do what you thinks best for you and in the end the buds will be fine…
