Dry/powder Fertilizers.?

I’m not really sure how to receive your tone. Are you saying that I posted information that isn’t true?

Edit… @SlowOldGuy title of your thread is dry nutes, are you interested in organics?

no one doubts that chemicals kill soil,
dbrn was just referencing the actual element, Nitrogen, its the same no matter where it comes from.!
it is a valid point, this is why we r able to use chem fert’s to grow plants.!

@dbrn32, @Skydiver

i walk both sides of the fence,
100% no-till organics outside in the garden,
100% chem fert’s and ‘soilless’ media inside the grow box, even the mommas.!

i’d loose it if u poured Botanicare on my mater bed.!!
there would be a fight, probably not just verbal.!! LOL

i m 5’ 6" and 150 lb, my finger tips r almost 7’ from the ground.
bid ass full mater plants.!!

Very good, we’ll keep the organic vs synthetic discussion off of this one then. I have to be really bored to get into that one because i really don’t care enough to argue one side or the other.

@Skydiver has a few organic threads going, if he’d like to have one there or start a new thread for it, that would probably be best.

Each has their own choice fo methods but nutes are needed regardless.

Personally I’m a person of black and white, science and not souls. So that has me siding with @dbrn32 here. For indoor grows I prefer giving nutes and for outdoor I like the idea of a well based ecosystem and thus planting with more live organic matter & giving teas.

Now as for your statement about the big picture of chemicals vs organic that’s a huge debate that I don’t think if fair to the OP to get into on his thread he’s just asking for some advice on his preferred method. So if you don’t have any advice to add on his question then like your mom said don’t say anything at all.

@slowoldguy I just purchased 5lb bag of chem gro 4-20 + 5lb bags of cal and mag from hydro gardens. these guys have been in business since the 60’s and people have been using their tomatoes nutes before but now alot of big commercial grows use this mix I’m told.

thanks Nicky, nice to see ‘new’ options.! (new to me)

chem gro sure likes Potash.!! lol
all their fert’s have lots of K, watch your plants for toxicity,
probably no worries, but keep it in mind.
u will need the cal/N and the mag/S, there is none in the grow mixes.
Sulfur is very important, it helps produce the flavors and smell.

the Morton’s Horticulture fert’s are not for me, too much urea in the mix,

i stumbled across Jack’s Classic fert’s when looking for Jacks Hydro 321…
https://www.jrpeters.com/who-are-you/home-gardeners/products.html
this is their home site, idk if u can even purchase from them,
they stress to find a local dealer,
i m gonna call them and get a guaranteed analysis emailed to me.!

had to get a bottle of Dyna-Gro for back up until i can get some more powder fert’s,
dang money grubbing hydro products.!! LOL

That’s my bad, the jacks 321 stands for 3 parts jacks, 2 parts calcium nitrate, 1 part magnesium sulfate. Those aren’t exact numbers, but very close. Recipe is on bag

If your requesting ga, get it for jacks classic and jacks professional. There is differences in micronutrients I believe, one may suit you better than other.

I’ve never used dry nutes before and the mix instructions are for like 1000 gallons lol. I ordered it today they told me as long as I have a tds meter I can mix it in whatever sized container I want.

I heard about Jack’s at the same time but this was designed for cannabis do I figured ide give it a go, they told me to mix half strength if growing in soil.
Yeah they don’t add cal or mag for cost reasons they said as many buy it locally but it’s cheaper for me to order from them.

@dbrn32 I will let everyone know how the nutes work for sure, I plan to use it on 2 autos I start this weekend and then 4 large outdoor photos I’ll grow this year (drop may 1st).
First I think I need to source some aluminum or HLG needs to start getting some lights in stock because my tent only has 2x400w sunblaster 6400k full spectrum CFL’s so I have about a month to figure it out

Did you set notification on stuff you wanted from hlg?

You use them at different times. You use the liquid through most of flower, then the dry towards the end.

The GH Maxi series is the only dry nutes I’ve had experience with. They seem to do best at about 1/4 strength. I’m running between 400-600ppm in veg and 600-800 in bloom. I’m in hydro.

It’s not necessarily required, but in most of the finishing products as a terpene enhancer.

I think limonene actually does, but yes plants need some sulfur anyways.

I’m not a chemist. Very little knowledge, understanding, or interest on subject matter. I don’t really have the patience for it haha. I bookmarked a link while back, not sure how relevant it is.

Lol at this back and forth two really smart experts lost in each other’s world.
Oh that was a good laugh to wake up to.

I didn’t put a notification on HLG but they are back in stock I’m temped to just pull the trigger now on a V2 320xl but I emailed them and asked if they will sell the heatsinks separately. So see how that goes first. 610$ Canadian
