Drip irrigation system

This is the transfer pump that I use:
BACOENG AC110V Self Priming Water Pressure Diaphragm Pump 4.5GPM 17L/min 40Psi Caravan/RV/Boat/Marine - - Amazon.com
It has been working perfectly since May of 2018. I do not have filter inline due to nutrients…they would likely plug it very quickly.

I use a ball valve on the wand to control flow. With the proper pressure reducer in place this pump could be used to supply a drip system.

This is the one I have. I might be wrong but I believe it can be used the way Merlin is describing . Haven’t played around with the pressure switch on it .

I looked through that but didn’t really find much. Is @imSICKkid the guy that has drip irrigation? His grows are fricking phenomenal. Makes me feel im in the wrong class, wrong school, wrong city  I saw he uses halos but couldn’t see his setup

You can see them a bit better here. Go 3 posts up from here also.

It is basically the same idea as the drip right hydro lock setup. Only using halos instead of the cones.

I was actually interested in the pressure switch for automating check-rez filling and topping off.

I misunderstood…the pressure switch is built into the pump assembly.

Do you want me to find a pressure switch and post a link?

Nah; that answers the question. I’ve been mulling how I want to deliver top off water to the check-rez and I think a gravity feed using a mechanical float valve is probably the way to go. I’ll just have to rig an emergency overflow but I have a floor drain 8 feet away.

Yes, can see them better thanks  that’s probably something I’ll try to replicate. The cheapest halos are $9 for a 6" i need 5. If I could get this set up right I might just avoid autopots. If I could come close to @imSICKkid grows, I’d be thrilled

I think I have a line on some regular seeds of quality. So that’s nice.

Again, thank you guys. I’ll definitely show what I come up with but it’s all going to have to happen after holidays.

On my current grow, looks like only 3 out of 5 are going to work out. Im blaming it all on soil

FloraFlex Matrix system is designed for high frequency fertigation in coco. Uses a small drip halo, perforated pot cover and pad for even watering. I’ve been using their 3 gal pots with it the past couple of grows and have no complaints.

That definitely looks like a really great system. Thanks

My set up is very similar to Sicks. Everything came from Amazon, submersible pump, manifold, water lines, watering rings and a timer with a light sensor.

So what do you do if you have to ph your water? Is there any soil or something you can grow in that you wouldnt need to ph your water? Mine is in the low 8’s

Alot of cannibus friendly mediums come ph’d or “Buffered” for growing weed. I think it’s about 5.6-5.9ph for coco and 6.0-6.5ph for soil. If you add 6.8 ph water to buffered soils it would bring it to where its buffered to. But if you add 8.2ph water continuously it would go down some and the soil would come up some. It would ruin your grow more than likely. If you’re adding nutes to 8.2 water, that will usually bring it real close to 6.5

But always ph your water… 5.8ph for coco 6.5ph for soil. Some check runoff regularly to see if its drifting and adjust their solution to compensate.

I’m just learning but I think that’s pretty accurate

I think under 5 and over 8ph is dangerous for plants in general weed included. Most things grow best between 6-7ph

I’m new to growing. I’ve ordered my seeds but haven’t ordered my equipment yet. I’ve been lurking on the forum for about a week. This is the closest thread to my current question.

I’ve been looking for a low maintenance automated drip/spray system because, assuming we ever get back to a post-plague lifestyle, I’ll be traveling again.

Right now I’m looking at a QIND Plastic Garden Automatic Drip Irrigation System, WiFi Control Houseplant Watering Device, Plant Water Pump Timer Tool,Precise Watering for Garden Patio (the forum won’t let me post a link yet).

To start with, I’m planning to grow 4 autos in Mother Earth’s coco & perlite. I figure one pump can run water + nutrients and the other pump just water or water + cal-mag.

I can also rig it to run drips or sprayers. I figure drips for the nutes & low level spray for water once the plants get some height.

Also, since it’s Wi-Fi, I can check on it while I’m away.

Anyway, figuring out how to irrigate when I’m out of town is one of the last pieces of my puzzle. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi welcome, you may want to look at autopots

AutoPot Spring Pot 4 Pot XL System with 12.4 gal Tank (5 gal Spring Pots) Amazon.com

@Nicky uses these i think when he’s away. He might be able to give advice

There’s several different types and sizes of autopots

Is this what you’re referring to?

I’ve looked at the autopots. I was leaning more towards of air pots or grow bags. Also, from what I’ve been reading, I should alternate nute & no nute waterings with coco & perlite. If I’m gone for a week or two, I wouldn’t be able to make the switch.

That is the one I’m currently looking at. I suspect it’s an ≈ 4 gph pump.

Sorry, I meant a ≈ 1 to 4 gph pump.

I’m looking for something similar too. I’ve read everything from they work for house plants, but not weed… to they’re the best thing since sliced bread

It seems like it would work, but you’d have to set it just to give max amount of water/nutes without too much or any runoff. Do you plan on runoff?

probably depends on brand of nutes. Alot of people use Jack’s 321 full strength, every watering throughout grow
