Doobs grow tent journal

theres so much you can do in that area, and its really cool because if you can learn basic sterile technique you could grow anything from your own mycorrhizae additives to tissue cultures. some of it is so much to take in it’ll make your head spin

I hadn’t even though about making inoculations. Gotta be careful with that though.

Thickening up the screen a good bit

I think I’m getting the hang of feeding them a bit better,

@Gl1tch @Reed71

should I just stay the course and veg another few weeks and really fill the screen out?

I have a ton of nice long branches that are just shy of the net, should I just let them catch up or should I do some pruning to let them get more light to get there faster?

also when it IS time to flower do I give them one last veg feeding and send them on or should I time it that they get a bloom feeding at 1-2 weeks in when they are asking for it. I cant wait to flower these out, I’ve gotten some seeds I’m really interested in trying next, I just hope the coming colder months don’t monkey up my enviromentals too much

If I was in your shoes I would flower soon. They will mostly fill your tent by the time they finish their early flower stretch. I used to prune hard but the more you train the less you need to prune. Light penetrates the plant a lot better than most people think. Especially in a tent designed to reflect and diffuse light. I generally prune a little for airflow, but I do more tucking of the leaves than pruning. After the flower stretch if your plants are getting too big you can cut some of the lower branches to increase quality, but it’s not always needed and you want the plant in tip top shape before you do or you will be staking stress on stress.

Good morning gang i agree with @Gl1tch they will double in size once you flip lights they will be all up in your net

I can agree, the stretch can be extreme. This Gold leaf is reaching for the sky. Have a great day :v::blush:

I’ll probably go on and flip it tonight then, I’m super excited to see how the second phase plays out,

I’ve been running my 18 hours on from 4am to 10pm can I flip to 12/12 at 7am-7pm or 8 am-8pm or will it stress them out?

They sure are reaching upwards today, still only running 70% on the lamp I may bump it up and use a lid meter to find a sweet spot if I can

Hard to believe this was a month ago to the day

Once they get some happy roots under them the time just flies.

they will be fine. There is still research being done but most of the info and research I’ve seen says that all that really matters is a suitable period of darkness sometime in the day. I even heard of a study going right now that aims to determine if that darkness has to be in a block or if you could do say two dark periods of 6hr each or three periods at 4 hr each spread through a 24hr period. Kinda like PPFD vs DLI for darkness.

Keeping with my schedule so far, today is feeding day but I also plan to switch to 12/12 should I give them a veg feeding and send them into flower or should I give them a flowering feeding? Should I flush really well with half strength and hit them with a heavy bloom feeding in 4-5 days when they’re hungry and thirsty again?

They’re really popping off this morning

@doober good morning my friend I would give them veg feeding they will use less nitrogen during flower but they will use it during the stretch so it should last them til they finish up

@Reed71 sounds like a plan my friend,

I usually go for a transitional feed. Dial back the veg nutes just a little and replace with bloom booster. you will need quite a bit of N for early veg but the plant will be ramping up P and K usage as well as micros. That has to balaced with the fact that the plant will be relatively inactive for a few days while it makes the switch. You could drop overall EC just a little to accommodate for the lower DLI and less active plant.

that’s basically what I did, I was looking at the GH feeding chart, and just followed it into the next week, it looks like I’m just kind of knocking the micro and grow portions down and slowly raising the bloom portion so it should be right on track,
