Do i need air stones to grow hydroponics?or do i just need to put air into the bucket and is that good enough?

Just wondering if i need air stones or just air in the bucket will be good enough?

The water the roots will be suspended in need oxygen for the roots supplied by an air stone or an air hose with multiple tiny holes to produce the oxygen bubbles

I personally wouldn’t just use the air hose because either way you will need to weigh the hose to the bottom of the container to help keep the nutrients from settling into the bottom of the container while supplying oxygen bubbles to the roots in the bottom of the container

If you simply put air line into bucket won’t dissolve oxygen into your nutrient solution. The large air bubbles will mostly float to surface. The airstones will diffuse the oxygen dissolving at a greater rate. You also have to be careful that water doesn’t siphon up the line and ruin your air pump.

Blue air stones and as much air as possible. Running a hose won’t do anything.
