Yes the 600. So the 3000mA is max the board can handle. The driver should be under what the board can handle?
No the max for the 288 boards are 3200mA I think they say 3000mA on their site to deter people from going over 3000mA. If you’re choosing a driver, you would want to be driver to be able to handle max not be under it. there is only one driver they use for the HLG 600 and that is the HLG-600h-54 (parallel)
The HLG 550 uses the HLG-480h-c2100(series)
Didnt you say you bought the HLG 600?
Yes I’m just trying to backward engineer it and figure out how it put together and why they use what they use.
I would recommend reading Ledgardener and watching growmau5 videos on youtube if you’re interested in figuring out why or how.
Google Ledgardener choosing a driver and that should start you off in explaining why.
Ok that what I was about to ask for thx
It’s pretty confusing at first, I’m not going to lie. But once you begin piecing the Info together. You start to figure it out pretty quick. If you have any questions @dbrn32 or I will try and help you.
I agree. Also within reason to get hlg-600h-54a that has 12+ amps on output.
Thx ill be back with more questions I’m sure.
I I thought that the only differences was that the b has a wire for a dimmer and the A does not
You want the b. You can dial it up and down 1 watt at a time(I use a kilowatt as a digital readout). The A(my understanding) click 75% then 50% etc.
Pretty much. The dimmer on a model is built in, it just only goes down to 50%. On the b model you need to buy extra components and do more wiring but offers wider range of dimming. I usually recommend the “a” version with built in dimmer because it doesn’t require any extra steps or components. The last “a” I got was almost 10% over nameplate current. I’ve never had a “b” driver that much over.
The A version has a turn knob just like a pot. Only goes down to 50% though, you still get a half a turn of the screw to dial it in, if you’re steady, you can get 1 watt at a time, but you would need something to read it.
You can count on one thing for sure. That light is going to give you much better results than what you had before.
The viparspectra has taken me this far. I thing I have about 2 3 weeks let on this one. So we will see cant wait for the next go might do a journal
Modify the vipra
Nice bud. That one just wanted to get tasted early ![]()

There is definitely a difference from viparspectra and hlg I can tell you that much for sure
